Forums - Gaming - Joystiq isn't scoring reviews anymore, and here's why

Good change... I preffer to know the opinion (and not from most reviewers) than the score itself.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Around the Network

I like that idea. Score make for fanboy wars, even if it's just half a goddamn star. Kudos to Joystiq and hope many follow.

End of Metacritic is nigh? That would obliterate review score prediction and tracking threads.

Good thing?

Yes, very good. Reviews can return to what they used to be - about the game and not about a number.

That's exactly the response I was looking for. Scores, while having a genuine purpose, do too much to reward those who often say "TL;DR". I don't think I would mind if the gaming side of the internet grew up a little.
