Yep.
Disliked just about everything about it, from the sickly Pixar style to the dull gameplay. Impressive particle physics only get you so far.
3/10.

this game proved conclusively what a dull-witted hack mark cerny is. just try and do a side-by-side with super mario 3d world. it's downright embarrassing.

The AI is braindead, the difficulty is completely broken, and the level design is absolutely awful. It's more of a game where you make some basic jumps and go to room to room and kill enemies. Secret locations are also pretty terribly hidden. There is also like 2 buttons for combat and no real combos for the gameplay. It's probably one of the worst platformers I've played.

You nailed it. I played the demo while at EBGames and I just couldn't stand the game.

I wouldn't say that, Mark Cerny has worked on some excellent games in his career, Knack was just not his finest hour.

Playing it now, and can only assume the negative opinions chiefly derive from the expectation of Knack being a platformer. Turns out it's actually a kid / newb-friendly character action title with basically an Akumu mode (die in one hit mode) for experienced gamers. I've played a lot of shitty games in my time - way too many - but I can't lump Knack in amongst them.

The game was fairly decent and fun. Gameplay was solid though I felt that the dash ability was useless and it got repetitive over time. Graphics and artstyle looked pretty. Unfortunately, the plot was uninspiring. I would definitely rate Knack higher than most reviewers, though I cannot give it an 8. It's a 6.7-7/10 game for me.

I had fun with it but it was very, very, VERY average game. Forgettable story and characters, repetitive combat and very weak unlockables/secrets. The graphics and settings were really great though. That's where I think the game has the most potential.

Haven't played it yet. I'll probably get it when it's super cheap.

the responses actually surprise me, it turns out a lot of people actually truly hate the game. nothing wrong with that, i'm just shocked because everyone i've played it with enjoyed it.

So much for the Mario killer.

Not yet, but I picked it up for cheap, and now that I've finished my first run through Dragon Age: Inquisition I'll play it as a bit of a palate cleanser before diving back into Dragon Age for a second play through. We'll see how far I get I suppose and I'll report on whether I think it was worth the cheap price I paid for it.

At least I go into it with low expectations, so I'm unlikely to be disappointed.
