You're wrong on
so many different levels I don't even know where to start. Blaming the owners
of the Wii U console for its failure is damn right stupid. Only roughly 9
million owners of Wii U but another 200 million gamers out there and the owners
or fans of Nintendo are to blame? It is not Nintendo's fault that 3rd party
game devs are making sloppy ports on the Wii U console. Nintendo even went out
and offered dev kits and if games can come out running well for PS3 and 360
then they sure as hell can come out just as good for the Wii U. It's not
Nintendo's fault. 3rd parties are just choosing to abandon the Wii U because it
is not "cool." They make the excuse that Wii U isn't selling enough
but now that it is closing in on that 10 million number, it doesn't seem to
make a damn difference. Outside of shooters (it's as good as PS3 and 360 for
shooters) the Wii U is a damn good platform for many game genres including
platformers, RPGs, sports, racing, strategy, adventure, action and any open
world games. Core Nintendo fans are the reason the Nintendo Wii U is selling at
all. It's not even true that Ninty fans only buy first party games because
although the top selling games for Wii U are published by Nintendo there are a
sizable amount of purchases for Zombi U, Just Dance, Skylanders, Lego Marvel,
Monster Hunter and Rayman Legends. These third party games have all sold right
around 500K which isn't a reason to not support a system. The only genre that I
can see not doing well on Nintendo consoles is first person shooters which
again are not a reason to not support a system. The argument that the Wii U is
lacking on new IPs is weak because it is the established IPs that help sell ANY
system not new ones. CoD, GTA, AC, Uncharted, Halo, FIFA, BF, Infamous, FC and
Killzone are all established IPs that are pushing sells of the XB1 and PS4.
Only Titanfall and Destiny are new IPs that has been helping the sells of those
consoles. New IPs are great but they are not what push consoles. Nintendo Land,
Bayonetta, Wonderful 101, Splatoon, Devil's Third and even Captain Toad can all
be considered new IPs for the Wii U and that is not all that bad for 2 years on
the market. Nintendo's faults are its marketing and branding. This is what is
hurting Nintendo. Association with the Wii is what is ruining Nintendo's Wii U
and the fact that they did a piss poor job of capitalizing on their 1 year head
start. Another screw up is not making games that show how valuable the second
screen can really be. Nintendo made mistakes but to blame the core Nintendo fan is pretty lame.
