Forums - Gaming - [Kotaku]In Japan, Vita has more upcoming games than any other console.

Well the number of games is not an issue for the vita. It is just that Yokai Watch/pokemon/monster hunter are so strong sales wise that any of those probably will sell more than 30 vita games together.

More than any numbers of games actually.

Monster hunter alone (3+4) sold over 7.75M in Japan, while Vita total software sales are only 11.5M. (according do VGC)

So monster hunter + yokai watch outsells all vita library together in japan.

But vita has no games ?

Having no monster hunter, youkai watch and pokémon is what is really hurting them in japan. More important than 30 games no one has heard of.

Not going to lie, I find this funny.

To be fair there are many Wii U title with tentative dates that could fall into the timeslot.

Here’s the full breakdown of games released in Japan over the next couple of months:

  • 3DS: 17 games
  • Wii U: 2 games
  • PS Vita: 39 games
  • PS3: 22 games
  • PS4: 22 games
  • PSP: 6 games
  • Xbox 360: 4 games
  • Xbox One: 8 games
PS: Kotaku does not specifies the titles

This seems problematic, as it is easy to name more than two games for WiiU. Did they only count games that have been given an exact release date? I am a bit suspicious about that number. Congrats to Vita though, however strange the result seems, a number that big means something is in store for Vita owners.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

10 years greatest game event!

Good going Nintendo, you see why nobody buys your damn console now

It's not Nintendo's fault third parties rather make Japanese games for xbone even it makes no sense.

i know u love Nintendo and all, but you're not really helping them when you can't even call out their obvious flaws.

So whose fault do you think it is? Whose responsibility is it to go out there and get third party support?

While true they should really have release dates announced already. I can only buy so many games and my Jan-Mar is practically full already. If they told me now Yoshi or Splatoon where March games I would more than likely never buy them. In part being I dont have the cash available at launch and I buy most games at launch and because Nintendo have never heard of price drops sadly.
If they gave me time I could have saved the extra money rather than buying other junk I dont always need like junk food, figures, activities etc.

Nintendo fans not buying third party games or new ips. And third party studios for making bad games.

Narrow minded view that ignores all external factors. It's Sony's fault that Vita has no first party support.

Its Nintendo's job to sell 3rd parties on their console. Being underpowered, harder to port to and having rubbish sales isnt going to sell anyone on developing for WiiU.

No, that's the job of third parties.

It's the job of third parties AND Nintendo as platform owner. The build-it-and-they-will-come-attitude doesn't work anymore with so many competitors on the video game market (which includes Steam, Origin, smartphones, tablets, streaming services, mini consoles like Fire TV...)

Nintendo has to actively allure third parties (as well as all the other platform owners) instead of passively waiting for them.

I feel your pain, living in australia is fucking expensive. At least the Cricket world cup is being held in our background, we won't have time to play games in the next month or so. If India wins the world cup on our soil, I am going to chuck a fucking nut.

SONY money hating 3rd party confirmed ...(joke)

Obviously 3DS is selling more on Japan and the rest of the world but why in the hell 3rd party publisher and developer across the globe especially in Japan choose to support PS Vita?

Obviously Nintendo can buy all those games and make it exclusive but they choose different strategy and tend to reach younger and kid audience with games like Monster Hunter and Youkai watched. and first party games.

Obviously why Vita sells is below expectation because people prefer to buy iPhone and smart device and why not directly influence 3DS because their audience is more younger then Vita and smart device audience.
