No. They're the only ones that would make it work.

Funny enough, I feel like this type of "rubix cube" game is perfect for the Pac Man franchise. Pac Man doesn't work as a regular platformer, but this feels perfect for a 3D type of Pac Man.

EDIT: Ninja'd

Could? Maybe. Would? Highly debatable.

Yes. Any other company would be sued for making a Captain Toad game.

Good point...

I think there are developers that could have pulled it off. Not many would have taken the chance though...

Could Sony or Microsoft? No. Could another company that's used to making casual yet enticing games? Probably

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

Thanks for all the great memories!

Only Nintendo can do Toad games.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I take it you mean no other (big) company would have greenlit a game like this, and even be able to turn it into a success. I think I agree. Other big gaming companies probably wouldn't think of making a game like this because for them it's all about the 'grand' experience these days. A smaller developer, the, 'indie', if you will, could have developed a game like this, and they do.

Swap out Captain Toad, and other Nintendo char's from that game, and replace them with (Insert developer studio here) and no one would care.

The game is bland, the controls are tank-ish and its been done way better before (Fez)

5/10 game if you ask me.

I will have to pick up this game up, looks very cool

Valve. Valve could do EVERYTHING, and make that everything run on a toaster at 60fps.

I'm now filled with determination.

Something like captain Toad is what makes me such a huge Nintendo fan. In an industry dominated by shooters and cinematic games, Nintendo say "hey let's make a puzzle game in a small rubiks cube type maze".They have the confidence to create such game, and the ability to make it instantly enjoyable. Even a budget title like CT has such a high level of polish.

I think very few large publishers and developers experiment with basic 3D space the way Nintendo are willing too. Valve and the Portal series have come closest, I think.
