Forums - Gaming - Japanese Gamers Tastes

When people criticize Americans and their love for COD , NBA , BF etc and praise japanese gamer tastes , i find it ironic , the japanese IMO they are just as bad as their US counter parts

lets see some of the big games

Pokemon , not inherently bad But I find them extrmely unspecial , THIS IS THE JAPANESE COD IMO , core gameplay like COD amazing and near flawless but so many damn releases over a such time with each game adding more then removing it later

Yokai Watch , ............. the gameplay is meh

Monster Hunter , this one amazes me , the gameplay is ass and grindy as hell yet it is mega popular

don't really like persona games , wonder why everyone does , though i love the fighting ultimaz and arena games

and many others they both have their pluses and minuses

Yeah man.. they are crazy... such strange taste.. I can't believe it.. *continues to watch Duck Dynasty*

To each their own, but I guess since Japanese is a more handheld sided gaming society they prefer not only games on handhelds but games that can be played in short bursts.

Monster Hunter is good, but its just a hardcore game is all.
Persona is popular because its classic JRPG gameplay with waifu sim mixed in.
Pokemon is pokemon, will always sell due to brand and other media (toys, cards, anime)
Cant comment on Yokai Watch as ive never played it.

But yes I wouldnt mind if they slowed down with Pokemon releases.

One of these series is not like the others.

See, half of those things are much better than whatever the americans like. Japanese tastes are superior, just deal with it and surrender to your inferiority.

That's normal, the same way I find UK gamers taste to be tad off comparing to mine.

I guess we could mix the two

Pokemon isn't released like call of and it actually introduces new stuff and hone the mechanics.

Aside from monster hunter, you didn't really show any example of yearly games that are all the same.

Have you ever played the Call of Duty games?  Because you just described exactly what they do with each new instalment.

What more can they do? Change the entire game to something new? That will just cause the franchise to die. Just having that dog caused bs.
