I'm surprised that this is happening quite early. I expected this to happen 2-3 years later.

Well, it has never launched in half of European countries, and I guess it never will. Diubt that there will ever be Tier 3 countries.

I guess. But with all theese discounts and promotions in the US, I think maybe europeans would get angry or just not buy the console waiting for their pricecut. Untill eventually its to late and they dont sell them at all.

They were supposed to do that during the original Xbox days. Not sure why they didn't pull through. They had plans to buy both 
Sega AND Nintendo. Why they didn't, I will never know.

Nintendo didn't want to, can't do a hostile take over in Japan (not worth it at the best of times wherever anyway).

I'm sure Square would be a relatively easy purchase tho if MS wanted it.

Yes. But it is still possible. But most people dont want to go through that loophole.

But why assume it would be a hostile takeover? Surely, for the right price, a deal could be reached.
