According to VGC the 3DS has surpassed SNES in sales so what do you think is the last console it will pass in it life?

I think Nintendo wants to keep the 3DS alive as long as they can. They will discontinue it at the same time as the WiiU, around 2018, so they can release something like the fusion or other more unified platforms. If they keep the console alive that long, it will reach GBA levels, but discontinue it before that, and it will only pass the NES.

NES will be 100% surpass, but the PSP is impossible.

Depends on when Nintendo announces its successor. If they announce its successor in 2016 for a 2017 release, then I think 3DS will expire at about 75 mil sales. If they announce it in 2017 for a 2018 release, then it can surpass PSP and GBA, but not certainly. A 2018 release would be 7 years on the market without a successor. The original DS lasted a little more than 6 years on the market without a successor, depending on region. So yeah, probably NES.

Since they lost some space for the smartphones, it would probably be better to keep the 3DS and profit from its userbase than releasing a new one early and build a new userbase.

So PSP is possible, but challenging.
