Famitsu published a new article today revealing new Japanese sales data for the year 2014 as a whole.

First, here’s a look at the system rankings last year:

3DS – 3,153,045
PS Vita – 1,147,936
PS4 – 925,570
Wii U – 604,856
PS3 – 450,034
Xbox One – 45,958

We also have data for the top ten best-selling games in Japan last year:

So the PS4 has sold more than the Wii U in 2014? Wasn't the WiiU selling more than the PS4 most weeks?

ps4 had some great weeks too

Take away 320k for the PS4's launch they're almost exaclty the same. WiiU's numbers do include a few more weeks though, so I guess without PS4's launch it still did better than WiiU on average

Nintendo just DOMINATED the software chart!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and it looks like Pokemon has found its Rival!!
And the sales of the 3DS is nearly the same as the total amount of the others combined!

Sooooooo, Will Ps4 first year beat the Wii U first year? ( Ps4 released around end of Feb right?)

hopefully, Nintendo will do everything to have a good relationship with Level 5 and Capcom like right now. MH and YW are selling the 3ds just like a Pokemon game.

So 5 million sellers for the 3DS and they're all 2m+. Again great for the little Ninty handheld, not so much for everything else.

Ironic that you put all Japanese sales data in "Nintendo Discussion". I suppose it is Nintendo-land.
