I think Nintendo made the most profit. The two SSB games, two Pokémon games, MK8 still selling well, 3DS doing good and Amiibo. The WiiU didn't do great, but since they make money on each console sold, I think they won this one.

Nintendo was back in the black last quarter i believe. With these holiday sales they are sure to have profited alot, even if i wish they had been more agressive with the price point of the Wii U. It was clear they were holding off for profits. Unsure it was the right decision, but if they profit again the doom talk will probably get halved, and everyone can benefit with an internet a bit less negative.

The Irony is that I was never planning to buy an Xbox One, the PS4 was my choice for second console. But  I was able to pick up one Xbox One bundle with Killer Instict and Assassin Creed Unity for $440 in Brazil. 

Just for sake of comparisson the Wii U is being selled at $550, and the PS4 is around $650 imported, or $1150 official.

Xbox one/PS4 games are around $55, Wii u Games $66.

At least in Brazil Xbox one is clearly the console of choice.

Xbox one is manufacted in Brazil in Amazonas, and that region is almost tax free.

PS4/Wii U are imported and reselled, and the taxes for imported products are around 78%.

Xbox won the holidays, that huge sale has created a momentum in the US that looks to be still going strong.

Once the homeland goes green again, its victory for the Xbox Team. Go Green!

Who knows? Until we see their financial numbers for they year, we can´t say for sure.

It´s true that all three companies are facing challenges. Nintendo will probably profit this year (they already had profits for the 3rd quarter), but can´t fix the marketing problem with the WiiU. MS apparently is still losing money on their console division - there´s speculation that they will restore the original XboxOne price. Sony is happy with PS4 and dissapointed with Vita, but the overall situation of the company as a whole is troublesome, with so many losses year after year.

Wow.. that was expensive for a WiiU. In São Paulo it´s possible to find one for about $ 400

Through grey market, but people who sell it for that price are operating at illegal conditions.

I either case... Sony will not survive the next years. They lost billions and billions if dollars constantly since years. Sony even got junk-status by the big rating institutes. The success of the PS4 is only a drop in an ocean. Sony even lay off thousands if employees and sold Japan headquarter and sold divisions but all this did nothing to improve the desolate situation Sony is in.
