You showed a chart on which Halo (its two most recent entries) are into the top ten of X360's. Only behind COD.
The newest entry made it into Top 10.
Where are you getting the idea of the franchise losing steam?

The new chart I posted should suffice as an explanation.

It doesn't. You'd have a point if those were the numbers of Halo 5, but it is a collection instead - games that people, essencially, have already played. It's like saying people have grown tired of The Last of Us because of the massive decline in sales of the Remastered entry on PS4 in comparison to the original on Ps3.
Samus Aran said: So 87% is now the half of 92%? Lol. Are you really gloating over something as minor as a 5% difference? Are we really going to use metacritic as an example? You do realize that not every review on metacritic is treated the same? Some review sites count more than others, which is stupid. Do the math yourself, add every individual review and divide it by the number of reviews. Your outcome will never match the number metacritic gives. Also you're missing two Uncharted games. ;) See, this is why so many people voted for Naught Dog as most overrated developer in the thread about most overrated developers. Not because they make bad games, but because their fans treat everything ND makes as a masterpiece that shouldn't be criticized. And some of them disregard similar good games just because they're not made by ND. That's just sad. |
Any one who voted ND overrated for that reason is just as sad as those who worship everything they make. Letting SOME fans speak for all si silly and voting something overrated because one does not like the fans of said thing is even siller....I can't stand most Kobe fans or Beyonce fans or LBJ fans yet I would not say any of them are overrated because of that.....

I agree with the Halo part but disagree with the Gears part because if Uncharted was compared directly to Gears then the sales and reviews say that it competes rather easily.

But I don't agree in comparing Gears to Uncharted/ Uncharted to Gears. They're both different, and unique in their own ways. The only thing that they're common with is that they resort to third-person shooting.

I guess we'll find out when Halo 5 comes out. Honestly, I could be very wrong about the franchise weakening but I'm sure I'm right about halo coming to the ps4. FPS's don't do as well as other genres on the ps4 and MS doesn't want anymore people losing interest in the xbone.

I agree with you completely. It was just he said no TPS exclusive could compete sales or review wise and that was incorrect because Uncharted while being seen as more as an action adventure game is indeed a TPS that easily competes sales and review wise.
Even though like you I feel they are two totally different games,

I hope that if and when Bungie will make a game also on non-MS platforms, it won't be a Halo clone, it would be unfair towards MS, it wouldn't really help its competitors and it would tarnish Bungie's image.
Halo, despite being a fruit of Bungie's talent, is also very closely tied to MS, just like Pokémon are to Ninty, both are part of specific gaming experiences and they wouldn't work as well on other platforms.
Sony has its gaming universe, it relies less than Ninty and MS on few very powerful 1st and 2nd party franchises, but it works well anyway.
All in all, each console maker does its best when it follows its way, not the others.
