Indeed. Especially considering the X1 was $50 cheaper, had 2 free games thrown in(both AAA well known franchise, one being a brand new release) and $50 gift card, multiple bundles etc. I know Sony had their own bundles but value-per-dollar, the X1 deals were insanely good. If you factored in the cost of the games and $50 gift card etc you would probably be paying less for an X1 than you would for a Wii U RRP. That is perplexing! I was expecting a much bigger sales gap in the X1s favor in the US.

Sales rise continuously until Christmas Eve, generally, with 2010 and 2011 weekly's being up 5%-10% in the week directly before Christmas (though the weeks ended the 25th and 24th respectively). So I'd expect sales to be flat/slightly up with 21/22/23/24 of dec being higher daily numbers than the prior week, with Christmas sales being relatively none exhistant in some parts of the world, Boxing day sales being fairly high, and the 27th the sale start dropping.

Edit: The identical week endings of 2008 show everything down 10-15%, with 2009 (ending 26th) everything was up marginally, with ps3 being down 2% (and sold 1,008,546 that week :O) Note: FFXIII released the week before and Japan sales were a quarter of a million!
