Oh are you talking about selling comparably to the higher price? That's even worse! |
Theres nothing inherently bad about either scenario.

Ka-pi96 said: Awww It will surely just be temporary though. I can't see them keeping it at that price much longer. |
They won't cut it again until they have powerfull software to push alongside it.
We'll probably see 399 Battlefield and Witcher 3 bundles. The next price cut probably won't happen til the end of the summer (Fable Legends/Madden/Quantum Break)
Gutsy move from Microsoft. Maybe they think that all the momentum gained over the holidays from the price cut will make the system popular enough that more people will buy it from word of mouth?
Or maybe there's a redesign that's almost ready to be announced and it will be $349?
Who knows. But I can't imagine sales not drying up to at or below what they were last year before the markdown.

MS don't have the marketing rights to Battlefield: Hardline.

Oh thats a shocker. MS will still find some way to undercut sony, probably bundle Halo MMC or ACU + a game of your choice. Same with Batman.
Oh and I forgot Evolve, I think they have marketing deal on that game.

But also gave the pillars of MS and that didn't even mention Xbox...

Evolve and Witcher 3 will definitely sell systems, although maybe not as much as Battlefield/Batman. Both are pretty hyped and looking to review well (or at least better then Destiny), don't forget that they're next gen exclusives also. People will have to update to either PS4 or X1 to play them.

FIFA will do more for Playstation regardless of marketing deals. Playstation is too big in Europe. |
Fifa doesn't have to push X1 above PS4 for it to greatly push X1 sales ;)
I think the discussions of PS4 vs X1 on a worldwide stage are long over. We're either talking North America/UK or we're accessing Xbox One sales on their own merit (not in comparison to PS4).

If you are talking only USA then Fifa won't make a difference.

I can see them announcing a permanent price drop come E3.
