Haven't you ever heard people draw comparisons between the long lived companies of Nintendo and Disney? Sometimes the perception of a limited eddition helps to drive demand, and what better way to drive that kind of demand than to let your limit be a perception only... bear in mind I'm talking strictly about Disney here. |
It only drives the demand for ebay. Most of the time, when I found out the movie was discontinued, it was already too late and $80 from a-holes. Yeah, it works for the people that strictly follow Disney news. But that's not a lot. Just recently MANTIS was discontinued. I just kept waiting. I didn't think Universal was gonna pull that DVD set. Granted it came out 8 years ago.
But there's other DVD shows out longer from them. Now I have to scramble and buy all the other less known shows they released on DVD before those vanish too. I'm not paying $135 on amazon for MANTIS, BS. I have to now go buy a PAL copy. With Disney I just don't bother when a movie is pulled. And move on to something else. There's like 20 movies from them they never got my sale from cause of this nonsense.
