Its Russia that should questioning why they supported the US which was hostile for the entire 100 years up to now why they havent supported japan to fight america at the end

I agree that empires cost a lot long term. The UK has suffered as a result of their colonial history.

Really? How?

Only looking at the title of the thread makes it easy to figure out the topic starter -- spurgeonryan is a master of pointless, lazy made topics worded in the most imbecile and ignorant way possible :D Though most likely he's never serious about anything he posts over here.

On the topic. They kinda did -- one way to describe current world order is we have colonial taxation system in place that de-facto pays the bills of the main beneficiaries at the expense of the others, in other words a more elaborate way of looting compared to the practices of the British Empire. Of course, it was never global to full extent, and not only because of the existence of the USSR et al. (looting the ex-Eastern bloc countries has helped to extend the life of the system by a decade or two), but the very fact that national economies even exists.

Today the US are political, economical and moral bankrupt, but even though that seems like a long shot there're chances of reinstalling the colonial system on the new grounds, but that'd mean sacrifice the great deal of the national economies, the US included, for the sake of the new world order.

No, Russia would at that time be able to resist and China would be a massive resource drain and would be a Vietnam scenario.

No, and considering this answer to the first question, the second question isn't really worth answering.

You honestly believe they are trying to conquer those countries? The death toll in the middle east is super 1 sided. I see a lot of people underestimating the U.S military right now. We have by far the best military currently and could take out any country still with the amount of firepower and advanced technology we have. It's not like all that money that we spend on the military doesn't do anything. We still spend the most out of any other country by far.

Definition of conquer:

con·quer
ˈkäNGkər/
verb
verb: conquer; 3rd person present: conquers; past tense: conquered; past participle: conquered; gerund or present participle: conquering
overcome and take control of (a place or people) by use of military force.
"the Magyars conquered Hungary in the Middle Ages"
synonyms: defeat, beat, vanquish, trounce, triumph over, be victorious over, get the better of, worst; More
informallick, best, hammer, clobber, thrash, paste, demolish, annihilate, wipe the floor with, walk all over, make mincemeat of, massacre, slaughter, cream, shellac, skunk
"the Franks conquered the Visigoths"
"Peru was conquered by Spain"
  • successfully overcome (a problem or weakness).
"a fear she never managed to conquer"
synonyms: overcome, get the better of, control, master, get a grip on, deal with, cope with, surmount, rise above, get over; More
    quell, quash, beat, triumph over;
    informallick
    "the way to conquer fear"
  • climb (a mountain) successfully.
"the second American to conquer Everest"
synonyms: climb, ascend, mount, scale, top, crest
"the first men to conquer Mount Everest"

So yes, what else would they be doing there but conquering.

America DID take over the world after WW2.

America has been THE profiteer of both world wars.

it almost seems like they've adopted a "world war strategy":
1. Initially, completely stay out of the conflict
2. Wait until the fighting parties have mutually ruined themselves
3. When all the key players are already mostly lying on the ground, find a reason for entering the war
4. No longer being faced with any significant military risistance, it's easy to force US will on pretty much all sides in the conflict
5. Exit the war as the big war profiteer, with hardly any losses
6. Fool later generations with endless amounts of Hollywood movies which give the impression that the US somehow was THE main force in the war, despite the US actually hardly even being involved (only about 0.7% of WW2 casualties were americans)

That's a little bit insulting to all the D-day vets I think.  WW2 was no joke...  .7 or not, many lives lost are many lives lost.

It's doubtful that America could have defeated the Soviet Union after WWII let alone the entire world. Additionally, it would have been impossible to retain the new territory. Conquering the planet through force can never be achieved, hence why it has never happened.

Agreed. And in fairness, America couldn't even conquer a handful of small 3rd world countries in the last few years.

To be fair, we weren't trying to conquer them.  I don't think we really know what we were trying to do actually.  Its like being pot shot by a bully, not knowing which one it was, then randomly attacking the entire neighborhood and sitting in peoples houses eating their food.

We had too many limitations placed on our military for them to effectively deal with those countries. Can't fight wars with the kiddie gloves on.

America isn't a country.
