Forums - Gaming - Exclusivity is dead.

Is this poster for real.
I feel a offended on behalf of all gamers and thinking people. I just want to throw a dictionary at that banner....

They mean Assassin's Creed, one was exclusive to PS4/XBO/PC and another to PS3/360.
They mean Unity is exclusive to next gen and Rouge to last gen... but what a bad work they've done there, lol.

Well it probably makes sense if you see the full sign, rather than this selective crop.

My 8th gen collection

Exclusivity within the game industry really just means excluded from a particular platform.

It's really just become a marketing tool for selling content rather than a tool for selling individual platforms.

This is not in any way shape or form dishonest or misleading; developers simply need to get the best ROI to ensure they can continue to produce content.

Nintendo, MS and Sony can market said content to sell more hardware units to improve the user base of their respective enclosed ecosystems ("walled gardens"), but again, this is just to encourage consumers to buy their product and services (becoming more relevant than product if not already) over a competitor's.

Regarding the OP; that advert from Ubisoft is hilarious. Not even sure if it was deliberately poking fun at the misconception of exclusivity or poking fun at the unwitting consumers who still believe in its relevance.

Also exclusively on Toasters.

Or my calculator :(

Is Ubisoft good for anything?

yep, for making unfinished buggy games and multi GB patches (that are also buggy, somehow).

The picture was shot at an angle that the Unity and Rogue titles were cut from the image. . .

Nintendo Switch FC: SW-6340-7643-4233 aka Renji

Steam: Lee Roid

Just some advertising people that don't understand what exclusive means in gaming.
