PEE SEE REVIVAL
Got steam and have been playing tons of pc games and mobile.
Still play ps3 and 3ds but really just a resurgence in PC, mostly because it allows me to watch tv and play games at the same time.

Either 2013 or 2009.

2013 I got Sly revived with his best game yet, one of my favorite platformers and most charming games ever with Puppeteer, my third favorite GoW in Ascension, a brilliant adventure in TLoU (those last 2 are the only games that made me enjoy online MP in the past couple years), a wonderful emotional story in Beyond: Two Souls, a blast from AC4 and KZ Shadowfall which both went wonderfully with my new PS4 along with the free Resogun. Can't even name all the free great games I got that year on Plus too.

2009 It was just quality at its highest. My favorite Uncharted to that point in 2, the start of one of my top 5 current franchises in Infamous (and my favorite title in the series with a top 5 twist endings in games ever), one of my favorite FPS of all time in KZ2, and of course the game that jostles with another as my favorite of all time Ratchet and Clank a Crack in Time.

I guess 2013 was better after listing it out lol

two games and it's your favorite year ever?  I hope not or that is sad :(

2010.

Mario Galaxy 2, Bayonetta, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mass Effect 2, Monster Hunter Tri, Sin & Punishment 2, Vanquish, Goldeneye 007 Wii, Kirby's Epic Yarn, No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 2...

Well, yes. Pikmin 3 was the first game in the series since 2004 and 3D World was what I always wanted from Mario in a 3D environment, my childhood dreams I mean. Though if I have to say a period with lots of games that would be the 2007-2010; BioShock games, Gears of War trilogy, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Mass Effect Trilogy, Mirror's Edge, SSB Brawl, Bayonetta, re-releases of Pikmin games, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, Halo 3 and many more. 

ok I guess I could see that if they're REALLY important to you and struck a nerve.  I love 2013 and Mario 3d was a fun playthrough when I got my WiiU this Summer

2010... Mass Effect 2.

2008 for me, not only because of the games released but also some older games that I bought that year:

- Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Wii

And a few PS2 and some older classic VC games that I can't think of. All the games on this list I bought and beat this year for the first time, not to mention all the fun with the multi-player on some of those games.

To say the least, Pikmin 2 it's my favorite game of all time, so the release of the third entry, after nine years of waiting, had an significant impact in my life :P

I know what you mean I played Sly 4 and it was my favorite in the franchise but man after 7 years of waiting it was pretty amazing.  I can't imagine what it would feel like to get a new great Crash (last one I bought was Warped which is my favorite PS1 game) or get a new Jak and Daxter.
