Domination is one thing it will not achieve. That's pretty much guaranteed. Even if it ends up selling more than PS4 it will not be by that big of a margin. And even selling more than PS4 is far from assured. 2 months of solid sales does not win you the generation. 2015 is really the crunch year.

And you are dead wrong with everywhere else being unimportant. There are many franchises that do much better outside the USA. If Xb one is doing poorly in those markets then PS4 will have a very easy time of obtaining exclusive deals, and even game exclusivity. And this could effectively put Xb one into a death spiral. That would also then give Sony leverage on franchises that are globally popular, which then puts it at an advantage in the USA. Thus making the home territory fairly fragile. Xbox cannot survive on the USA alone.

But to answer your question, I think PS4 will end 100-120m depending on how long this gen lasts.

so if PS4 sells only 120M this gen and ends it with over 50% market share its nowhere near anything and hence not an achievement?

Of course. Last gen was largely inflated by the Wii userbase who have now moved on to smartphones/tablets/etc.
