Forums - Microsoft - Halo 5 is NOT timed exclusive. Classic mistake from Microsoft

"Please don't release Halo 5 on PC?" Anyone think to ask, "why not?", lol.

Seriously, MS were never going to take Halo to other platforms. They've skipped an entire console generation on PC.

It would refer to the Xbox 360 if it would be available to another platform.

How could anyone misunderstand "timed exclusive"? I mean this term is alway used to describe the limited length of a beta. Stupid gamers.

Well it literally is a TIMED exclusive. 3 weeks actually.

But they've already hinted at another beta later in the year for BTB. That could be what "may launch on another platform" means. It may not launch on MCC. It may be an open beta.

Because games are platforms now? C'mon.

This wasn't a misunderstanding. This was misleading information.  My have been unintentional but the blame for "misunderstanding" certainly doesn't lie with the fans. They used language that always has a specific meaning in the game industry and are nw pretending it meant something else.

The way it is being distributed is the platform. The only way you can play the Halo 5 beta from the 29th to the 18th is if you have MCC. Its in the menu of it.

So you're still saying that with their specific language it's the fan's fault for misunderstanding and not their fault for using misleading lingo?

Did anyone really think it would be? I mean come on. It's Halo

You know people. They get a centimeter of rumor they turn it into a mile of truth.

lol. "centimeter of rumor"...from official MS promotion via the Halo 5s page on an Xbox One console. "Timed exclusive; may be available later on other platforms". Stupid gamers. I wish they wouldn't take this inch and turn it into a mile. Timed exclusive and may be available on other platforms clearly just means that the beta has a time limit (although, I thought that was implied for all betas).

But, you know people.

I, personally, never thought it would come to another platform than XBone, but for you to say "they get a centimeter of rumor and turn it into a mile of truth" is out of line. It's pretty clear what it says about the Halo 5 beta on an Xbone. That's not "rumor", that's straight up in your face when you turn your XBone on.

The only way they could "fix the language" would be to remove that statement entirely. People that don't know better would rightfully be confused and shouldn't be lumped in with your aformentioned "people" who try to bring a console down by any means necessary

Exactly, I know people. Its why noone who posted this rumor bothered to look into it when Greenberg made the tweet 2 days ago. People like to blow things out of proportion when it comes to MS games. Are you saying it wasn't a rumor with that first line?

Its not the fan's fault for misunderstanding. Its certain fans' fault for blowing it up into "Halo 5 will be coming to PC".

Your thread title claims something else.

Also, what doesn't get blown up nowadays by the internet?

My thread title says exactly what it was. I just didn't clarify which fans.

Greenberg says "Sorry for any confusion" so they are taking the blame.

My fault. Must be just me misunderstanding the words in the title and blowing it out of proportion.
