I think by now they have completed their new Kyoto building that houses around 1,500 employees. An expansion takes time and outsourcing IPs comes with the risk that the quality isn't up to snuff, so it's all a rather slow process.

But the expansion should've taken place awhile back when they were rolling in money. Iwata's fault then was clearly not looking far ahead enough.

I've given up hope for them to implement this idea. The fact that they haven't acknowledged they fuckedup selling RARE and lot all those IPs shows they don't get it.

Lol, most Rare employees left Rare before Microsoft bought them. Nintendo relocated a lot of them before selling to Microsoft.

Nintendo "fucking up" with Rare is just in your head.

Nintendo doesn't need Banjo-Kazooie to make a good 3D platformer. If they wanted to, they could've easily made a similar game to Banjo-Kazooie.

How cute that you think everyone wants Banjo. RARE had more IP value than that.

On top of Banjo

Killer Instinct, Perfect Dark, Jetforce Gemini, Conker, Battletoads.

Imagine a Retro made perfect dark. It could have been the revolution of a franchise everyone loved on the N64.

Conker didn't even sell well on N64, that franchise has no value to Nintendo. Same goes for Jetforce Gemini (which isn't all that good by the way) or Killer Instinct.

Only IP of any real value was Banjo-Kazooie.

Well, some of these like Brain Age and Nintendogs nobody wants... also, you can highlight Yoshi, Kirby, Zelda, Star Fox, and Mario party cause we are getting those in 2015.

I'm thinking that's what's going to happen with Nintendo's next console. There's no way Nintendo can compete with phones so with their purported "Fusion" in the works, I'm thinking that's what's going to happen. One unit, all of Nintendo's software.

Nintendo needs to expand, but they need new IPs, not more of existing ones.
