Consumer perception of the media giant the lowest in six years.

I don't think they should care a lot given the PS4 sales numbers.

problem is that despite their company having the various sectors very seperate, if Sony as a whole goes deep into debt it will eventually effect their video game branch, regardless of how well it is doing. you can't just axe the bad branches of your business and forget about debts and keep the good one; if only it were that easy

it would be even more absurd to trust any claims made by the media without taking the time to actually vet them yourself given the long history of lies america has used to start conflicts

if more people actually did this they would understand that the war on terror is itself a joke

Yes, Sony getting hacked and having their movies leaked to the general public for free is sure to inspire anger and outrage in the general public.

My blood is boiling that I won't get to watch The Interview in theaters. I'm so angry I'm on my way to join the army as a matter of fact and can't wait to risk my life for the price of admission.

but then again i suppose that saying that you shouldn't just blindly trust the media makes me a conspiracy theorist so you can probably ignore what i'm saying and continue on your present course

I don't trust the media 100%, they are not infallible but I would trust them first before a dictatorship. Speaking of dictatorships, I'd also advise you not to be so quick to trust a totalitarian regime.

i'm beginning to wonder if this wasn't done by the nsa to turn public perception against north korea even more and pave the way to a conflict

north korea has already gone on record stating that they had nothing to do with this

anger is no excuse for disregarding common sense

lol a totalitarian regime?

now i'm not going to pretend that i know how things are run in north korea or how the citizens are treated

but let me ask you something which country is notorious for attacking other countries?

no how many countries has north korea attacked vs the number that the united states has attacked?

how many innocent people has the united states killed?

that americans still think they are free in a country that has laws that allow the governemnt to seize any citizen and throw them in jail without a trial is a joke

oh and btw if the signs are being interpretted correctly america is itself on its way towards a totalitarian state

at least United States citizens aren't starving and have the freedom to go where they want and do (generally) what they want. goodness.

Oh what a surprise

Sony is cowardly. People who are claiming they did the right thing for business are still using an excuse to justify a cowardly action.

Yeah, what they should have done is release the movie and if something did happen and people died they could confidently tell the relatives of those dead people 'we did the right thing.' I'm sure there wouldn't have been any backlash whatsoever. Risking the deaths of civilians because of political thinking is FAR more preferable to getting backlash from not taking that risk. The COWARDS!

"Go AMERICA!"

Why should Sony get blamed for the deaths though? If they released the fucking movie like they planned and YOU decided to go despite knowing there might be some ridiculously low chance of you dying, why should it not be your fault for choosing to go? Don't point the finger at Sony. You made a conscious decision and it's on you if something happens to you. I'm so sick of everyone acting like Sony would have to take responsibility for the deaths.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Stock Dropped? ( i dont know how this works, but i see companies have their stock sales thing drop after something bad happens )

Get a clue man. Sony didn't pull the movie, the theatre operators did. Even after a few had pulled out Sony still said they were releasing. It was only after all the major chains pulled out that Sony realised there was no point.

I would say the incriminating emails tarnished their reputation more than anything. That studio was so horribly mismanaged and yet their president made more money than Kaz Hirai. That's disgraceful.

As of Friday, December 19, Sony's score was 3, a six-year low. YouGov points out that this could fall further, as The Interview's cancellation has drawn much displeasure from some, while United States president Barack Obama has even said Sony "made a mistake" in scuttling the movie's release.

Well the people would be showing their ignorance then, since it was the movie theatre operators who forced Sony's hand by cancelling it in droves, so SOny had very few theatres left to show it. Once you get down to only a handful of theatres there is no point in releasing it. They should still make it available digitally.

I also hear Anonymous plans to "launch" it digitally on Christmas, for free of course.

didn't tell the Movie theaters they  could decline to show it first, after all wouldn't there have been some kind of contract that didn't allow them to remove the movie? Or it doesn't work that way? I have no clue, just asking.
