Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is bragging about their high quality games :P

Metacritic is one of the most popular ways for the general public to rate things, especially leyman customers. So yeah, metacritic. That website that pops up first or second when you google terms like "Bayonetta 2 review". If someone is hardcore into games, they probably already own the Wii U or hate the Wii U. This is a smart way to educate parents and the non hardcore gamers i.e the vast majority of the Wii U's audience.

Well yeah I suppose you're right.

I only feel this way since I've never been fond of reviews, I hate it when people try to use them as a measurement of a game's quality.If people only play games with good review scores, then they could miss out on some amazing games.I think its better to look at gameplay videos, and then decide by ourselfs if the game is to our liking or not,and never by a review alone.

Although I do agree that it might help "casuals" to decide if they buy a game or not.

Bayonetta is pushing it a bit really...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

User scores means nothing, specially if we are talking about Metacritic. Read again the comment, it's not only because of the number, but PS4 and XBO fans attack each other there while Nintendo suffers very little with it.
Take the real score, as I already said, PS4 alone have more than 20 games rated 85+ there.

Cherry picking like this is low to be honest, but heh, PR.

Actually lying is the worst. Kinda like how Sony are being sued over just that.

Nintendo's been so feisty lately. I like it.

Casuals? Huh? Terms like that are just illy IMO. If I play games, play them well and own a huge library, then stop playing for 6 months and come back to playing again, that is not a casual or a hardcore gamer. Similarly, people without resources couldn't afford a Wii U for the last or may not have access to metracritic. There are MANY people who fit what I said but are hardly "Casual". Similarly, categorizing people as "hardcore" is kind of creepy. The 2 massive extremes are the reason why people laugh at "gamers".

I don't have a problem with that, as long as it's true. Though Pokemon X and Y are separate games, huh?

Wait ... User Scores? They're citing User Scores?

Well, whatever. I'm too sleepy to worry about digging up a clever and unique face-palm image.

Games that excel in both critic- and user-score. A way dragon age gets disqualified for example.

But the games in the list are beloved by critics AND users, that is something. Probably you really get better some sleep before posting.

You genuinely have a high regard for user scores on Metacritic?  That's interesting.

Yes it is.
And justice is being made

Justice would be the guy getting 60 bucks back. Nothing more...

Retail games for current generation systems with a Metascore of 85+ AND a User Score of 8.5 or better as of Dec 19, 2014

The numbers must not have been very impressive if they had to resort to including the additional criterion of an 8.5+ user score.

I'd be curious to see what the numbers are for just a Metascore of 85+, or even 80+.

EDIT:
And here are the results for just Metascore 85+

PS4: 23
Wii U: 21
Xone: 14

2nd EDIT:
Forgot to include the 3DS and Vita!

Vita = 21
3DS = 20

I trust satan more than user scores...

Definitely a lot more interesting than watching the pissing matches everywhere else that brag about sales figures that are ultimately hollow due to narrowing profit margins. Well, at least when other companies aren't busy making smear campaigns against each other due to said thinning profit margins and insecurities about their place in the world.
