Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is bragging about their high quality games :P

Be sure to try this again at the end of this generation

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Hmm, just looked at PS4 and X1. This may include some Vita titles. There's only 2 that fit for PS4 and none for X1.

I wonder if they're not counting Terraria as retail. I know physical copies exist.

Are the two TLOUR and GTAV?

TLOUR and Guilty Gear Xrd. Ironically, there's a couple of multiplatform games for PS4/X1 on Nintendo's chart that didn't make. They have similar metas, but the user scores were trolled to oblivion.

Well its just marketing anyway. A game thats 10/10 to one person might be a 6/10 to another. Its just Nintendo trying to compete...

Exclude the User Score cuz thats BS (i thinkwe all agree here) and at the end Nintendo will have the most 85+ even 90+ games out of any company. (like not including Bayo2 cuz thats Platinum or LoZ cuzs thats not current gen)

As of now they are winning with i think 4 games (90+)

Edit: 5 games

And the trading part doesn't even make sense, why the hell would you want to trade your legendary pokemon for a different one, why wouldn't people want both? Its amazing how people STILL defend this.

They make two versions as way to stimulate social interation, which than helps the creation/maintenance of a comunity. It is less about the legendarys and more about the other pokemon.

And i don't think it needs to be defended since, in all honest, i don't really people lose so much by playing only 1 version.

Trading was not the social stimulate for Pokemon, it was battling each other. Me and my friends played Pokemon so much, all we did was battle each other. No one wanted to trade their , and when people did it was only for their legendary pokemon and that never happened. Also not everyone had pokemon or friends that played pokemon etc. I mean come on, $40 for a few pokemon and a color change in the enemys shirt is not justifiable.

Its not, but people keep buying them, so theres no need to stop... Just buy one and youre all set.

I say this because I once compared games that scored above 85 on the PS3 and the Wii on this very site. It was a typical Nintendo "has the best quality thread" and I pointed that the PS3 had about 4 times the amount of games rated over 85compared to the Wii at the end of gen 7. Of course this was dismissed with those "popular is not equal to good"  and "metacritic doesnt matter" excuses. So again, be sure to try this at the end of the generation and things will look very different. Of course Metacritic "will not matter" at that point.

but ultimately its just a trick to get you to buy the same game twice initially then three times when "z" version or whatever they call it comes out

It is almost funny to see in the same thread people defending that you can't count X/Y as two games, but at the same time Nintendo uses this to force people to buy both. Those are contradictory statements. If the games are so alike, than people would never feel the need to buy both. If people do feel the need to buy both, than they can be counted as different games.

I disagree with this theory of forcing people to buy two games. I got Pokemon X last year and never felt the need to get Y. All the pokemon players i know are in the same situation. Why would anyone need both versions when you can trade pokemons by the GTS? It makes no sense.

While there is surely some players who do that, it is a minority.

That said, having two versions is a smart marketing decision. It encourage players to look out for other players, creating a community around the game and that helps not only the sales but also the longevity of the game. It is a very good strategy and without prejudice to anyone.

It is different, let's say, than the Oracle games. While both were great and different, you had to have both in order to play the true ending. Than again, those games were very different in dungeons, bosses, weapons and main mecanic.
