Get ready/for NSA now having a direct open back door into every computer system open ..for you know...."protection purpose"

its that or Sony gets sued to death in court for ever..well after this , this just gives Govt. More excuse to exploit more privacy rights of people.

But of course Sony will still get the Blame, so its all good right?they already the law suits have already started.

Well I'm blaming whoever thought it was a good idea to make a movie about assassinating a current living leader of a country, and a not so friendly one to boot.

I mean could you imagine the U.S. responce if this was the other way around.  If Sony made a movie about asssassinating Barack Obama, or if North Korea made a movie about assassinating Barack Obama.

I can't imagine our government just ignoring it.

they (not sony) have already made movies about assassinating current presidents, or attempted assassinations. George Bush... and the media generally enjoyed those movies.

SPE is American. C'mon man that is like the most basic information you could possibly have about Sony.

And SPE is a subsidary of Sony, they call the shots.

That movie could be available digitally right now is Sony desired.

yeah but that wasn't your point was it.

They should just release the movie on DVD/BR. At least get some money back from it.

yup, a certain very tall man with a very tall top hat , slaying vampires and zombies..lmao

it does not matter if it was and old dead president, it was still a story/about Mr. President doing those things with an axe killing monsters , before he gets killed in a theatre.

I'm sorry dude but this is just wild speculation. The US government will step in on behalf of the citizens affected. This will die down over time for Sony, not ramp up and create hysteria and cause the collapse of a company that is primarily fed by it's insurance branch in japan. Hollywood wants them to release the film. People are on Sony's side for this, but they're upset at the decision. Your prediction is really quite out there, likely fed by some internet banter.

Forced oversight of their networks will bankrupt them alongside a decline in purchases due to an irrational fear that they will be hacked again? I mean, cmon man. Take a breath and think about this.

die down over time? really? its been going on for a d@mn .long time

how do you think that malware got in? it was from people working inside Sony helping this hack go through.

ps3 the USB security key gets into Hackers hands

PSN hack goes through

Now helpers inside Sony help to hack yet again Sonys Network

and you really think the US govt. will step in and not find Sony at fault? again?

the law suits yet again will cost Sony millions, but again unlike last time a countries Govt. was using its resources to hack a company that is worth what less than 24 billion, and you really think that North Korea will stop now? that it will some how die down?

if North Korea continues doing this , they could very well cause the end of pretty much all of Sony's networks.

thats like if the US Govt. was sending the NSA after you, if every time you build up your defense they keep battering it down, it does not matter how much you say: hey we did the best we could, after a while and in the case of Sony how would the network viability of its perception of security not suffer? more than it already is even with the US Govt stepping in. that means if the US Govt. does step in it will Cost Sony heavy. If not what is to Stop North Korea from not hacking Sony further with its resources that its Govt. can bring to the Table.

this is not a corp vs corp with rules, this is a corp vs the leader of a country and its officers with an axe to grind. they will not be done until they are done , when or if ever that may be.

im looking at this is , has as a Q: has North Korea decided its made its point well enough on sony ? or does it see that more needs to be done? i say expect the worse, Hope for the best

And yet despite every hack you've listed, ps4 is outshipping the fastest selling system of all time.

This isn't even on their networks. PSN and SPE are separate. Why would they continue to hack Sony? Sony obliged their demands. The hackers even said that if employees come forward and ask to be spared, they wouldn't release their info. Does that sound like a group that is out to get them?

Anyway, something that came from internal would be called a terrorist act. There is literally no system in the world that can prevent someone on the inside from giving out the keys. This is hysteria at its worst. There won't be increasing protections with increasing costs. That doesn't even exist. And if the gov steps in it will cost Sony? The GOV is paid in tax to protect its companies. Where are you even getting your information from, man? Why even continue hacking Sony instead of a different company?

I don't even know if you're fucking with me right now, but I sincerely hope you are.

america lost its first cyber war. this ain't good.

Sony is a Japanese company. :-p

Anyhow, this is businesses making decisions. Not the goverment.

Typical
It's an american company, the American government is involved. The american company backed down.
Sorry, not a japanese company. It is owned by a Japanese company, but it is an American company. You didn't know, so don't pretend like you did.
It's just like SCE is a multinational company, with headquarters in many countries.
Oh wait wait, is Naughty Dog also a Japanese company? They must be!

EDIT: Even worse that the company is also ORIGINALLY an American company called "columbia" which was originally owned by coca cola and bought out by sony. So yes, clearly Sony Santa Monica is Japanese and so is Naughty Dog.

Read the points that can happen, the chances of the negatives happening is very likely to happen, with investors than seeing again no increase in profits the "yet another revision" in another round of more loss deep less ground made up and further time now needed to gain more profits again after more problems , it would not matter if it was another hack. Sony will again be further downgraded, im expecting more negative outlook for another turn around.

"[T]he malware that was used would have gotten past 90 percent of the Net defenses that are out there today in private industry and [would have been] likely to challenge even state government," said Joe Demarest, assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's cyberdivision. His comments were officially confirmed later by the FBI.

O_O

Then again, China was able to hack the Pentagon and is now building their own version of the F-22 Raptor. So I guess we shouldn't be surprise this is happening.
