this was just weak... valve pls, if you change your policy because the terrorist demand it they won...
same goes for target Australia, censorship is the first step to dictatorship..

you issue this game for sale and then some kid ends up going on a school killing spree who happened to play it a lot- and guess what? Valve gets sued off the wazoooooo by the kids family after he is shot by police or whatever ends up happening. it's just too risky

 

this game is gross. I think it's lame that Target of Australia banned GTA5; at least in that case you have a game about being a criminal- yes- but all the same a story based game with many different elements... some of which are not particularly bad and involve choices. In this 'Hatred' game its literally about mass murdering innocents in extremely graphic manners. something like this is not healthy for society nor reflects well on it. people deny that humans are becoming more and more desensitized but how can you argue otherwise when a game like this comes out?

I respect Valve's decision and think its the smartest one. it's simple- ethically this game is awful and frankly legally it even may not be released in many regions when all is said and done


You just described Postal 2. And that's a game that's there with no problem for some good years.

Postal 2 was banned in some regions, and this seems farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr more serious in tone than Postal 2. Postal 2 does in fact have humor. its not some 'murder your neighbors' simulation like this appears to be

 

no one can name a game that has gone this far in the past because there isn't one. and there hasn't been one for good reason

If they as the platform owner feels that a game is morally disgusting, they still have every right to tell the developer "no thanks". Since when did it become Valves responsibility to open up their platform to anything people want to put on it?

Valve has put out games that ranged from outright fraud to completely broken before and never had a problem with the game's. It was only when the controversy began that Valve pulled the game from steam greenlight.

Valve did this because of the controversy and not because it confilicted with their standards for publishing games.

Hatred is Back!

I don't even want to play this game, it never interested me.
But every bump it hits on its road to release makes me want to buy it just to spite people who think they can tell me what I'm allowed to play.

Valve is a privately owned company, they fucking publish what they fucking want in their service. If you really want this game, you will be able to get it somewhere else.
