They remove content that they judge will bring too much negative backlash to their platform and allow content they judge will be just fine. If they as the platform owner feels that a game is morally disgusting, they still have every right to tell the developer "no thanks". Since when did it become Valves responsibility to open up their platform to anything people want to put on it? |
Valve has put out games that ranged from outright fraud to completely broken before and never had a problem with the game's. It was only when the controversy began that Valve pulled the game from steam greenlight.
Valve did this because of the controversy and not because it confilicted with their standards for publishing games.
