Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Order 1886 Looks Visually Better than MGS5 on PC

So it looks pretty but every other rumor about the games points it to being a POS.

MGS V is a multiplat, compared to a PS4 exclusive.

A 7th gen multiplat at that, people like to forget its on PS360 aswell.

MGS looks better

Well this is due to several reasons, but I have a problem with people saying anything looks better on PC because that is never going to be true for all PC owners.  There is no one PC rig that everyone uses.   You are always going to have people whose PC are going to smash consoles, and you are going to have people with rigs that can't beat consoles.

Thats the beauty of PC.  You can price a system that gives you the performance you require....  Checking out the average specs of PC owners on Steam  reveals the following GPUs to to be the most widely used:

 Intel HD Graphics 4000
5.24%
 Intel HD Graphics 3000
3.32%
 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
2.56%
 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
2.37%
 Intel HD Graphics 2000
2.32%
 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
1.98%
 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650
1.92%
 NVIDIA GeForce GT 630
1.68%
 Intel HD Graphics 2500
1.58%
 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
1.49%
 Intel HD Graphics 4400
1.49%

Of the top 25% (of users surveyed) only about 5% of users have hardware that can be said to be more powerful than the PS4.

So to say that PC looks better is to pretend that nature of PC doesn't means some will look better than others.  Its kinda what makes PC so cool, the ability to customize your experience, but out of the box PC doesn't naturally look better because there is no one rig that everyone uses.

MGS is an open world game designed to run at 1080p/60 fps on PS4.

The Order is linear, sub-1080p/30 fps.

Yeah, but MGS5 has much larger areas and runs a 60fps, so...

That's an odd comparison to make :p To be honest TO:1886 has a higher fidelity than pretty much any console titles, linear or not. I wouldn't extend that to top tier PC games though (which MGS5 is most certainly not; it's basically the PS4 version with higher LOD concentration).

The Order looks better than most games on any platform, it's a fact. Whether or not its a good game is another debate, but what they have shown so far beats almost any game anywhere

This is a no brainer ...

I wonder if this thread is a response to the other one ...

MGSV was never a contender against The Order: 1886 in terms graphical fidelity, even on PC with all possible mods in the near future. Been held back by last gen platforms and not been physically based already meant that it was disqualified ...

this thread is not a response to that other one because when you really get down to it they're actually compring ground zero footage.
