According to the poll ..about 68 people thinks sony did not do enough to come out on top this november npd.

The poll's kind of stupid "did sony do enough to win NPD" obviously not because they didn't win, why is that even a question. Is it meant to be "did sony try hard enough to win NPD?"

The PS4 sells A LOT an is the market leader at the current price, so I see no reason at all in lowering the price this early (and thus lowering your profits). Sony is not interested in a price war.

Agreed it would be stupid to lower the price right now. What people don't understand is Sony has already won. They lost the US by 18 million consoles to the 360 that wont happen again this generation and avoiding that is big for them a huge loss for xbox.

Getting involved in a price war isn't smart move it'll just have them losing money. Sony is doing everything right all they need to do is keep doing what they do. They have an amazing indie scene and the AAA titles are there and plenty more coming. Can't wait for SFV.

Microsoft can afford to absorb losses... Sony can't.

The poll is daft.  Sony could have done more to help ensure that they sold more units than the Xbox One.  But your implication is that they were assuming out of arrogance that they didn't have to.  We don't know that.  What we do know it that Sony supplied consumers with a product that they wanted at a reasonable price when you look at the past 11 months.  They also catered to the stockholders and their employees by making more profit from the PS4 than if they had dropped the price of the console.  Reality, man.

SONY in the end of fiscal year will win on profit and market share both at the same time.

Gamer in the end of the year will win with a lot of exclusive and games.

lets game on in gave it November NPD for Xbox one.

why price drop when

You are still selling good in NA
Making bundles of money
Are still ahead in total US sales
Microsoft said it best. It is a sprint not a marathon and Sony have all year to build a lead.
You are selling more units WW. Most important thing.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

There should be a fifth option in the poll:

"This poll is full of malarkey because I'm so desperate for an Xbox One win that I will unreasonably paint Sony in a bad light to justify my lack of support for their console."

Oh, that's right. You couldn't use this as a option. Too many characters.

Did they do enough? Obvious answer is obvious. No. They didn't drop their price and lost. They are dominating and don't need to drop the price. OP, did MS do enough to win every other NPD of this entire gen? Also, having the clearly better console by essentially everyone's standards except for people who don't want to admit it does not equal "arrogance".

At least Sony is espousing a sustainable business model. The Xbone's holiday tactics would be suicidal if MS's money bags weren't there to prop them up.

I don't understand how people equate Sony and Microsoft and simultaneously hold that Microsoft is much more financially well off then Sony.

A common argument is that Microsoft has money to burn on Xbox, and yet Sony is arrogant because they can't follow suit? Seriously? When its the same people telling us that Microsoft has money to burn, that Sony is on the verge of bankruptcy, suddenly forget about Sony's financial status when considering holiday sales, it doesn't make any kind of sense. Even if its some kind of cherrypicking.

Sony was selling buildings last year, Microsoft is making billions in profit per quarter. If anyone is arrogant in this scenario, its Microsoft, they've always had the means, and yet they only win one NPD?
