So is Halo MCC overtracked near 100%?

Amiibos - "Sales of amiibo are approximately equal to sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U"

That's very very low if true.  Can't be happy about that.

about 700k amiibos in 9 days, with 12 amiibos out of the 48 amiibos total released^

I know, bad isn't it?

And 10% boost in Wii U in SSB launch month is also not good news.  VGC overtracked everything it seems.

Yeap, if you believe thats bad, thats on you i guess :-/

Called it ^.^. Glad MS was able to pull out their first win, if they didn't then that would have been devastating for competition which isn't good for anyone, especially those of us that invested in all 3(speaking of Wii U please step it up) . Any confirmation from MS/Sony PR? I know MS previous PR today didn't say a million, unless I'm mistaken. Also from from some reports it looks like some on gaf intentionally gave out incorrect information. That true?

BF wasn't as big as we thought. Maybe all the trampling from last year put people off. ALso console sales and software down YOY. Not what I like to see.

That's actually really good, on average every single Smash Bros owner bought an Amiibo. What were u expecting, everybody would buy multiple right away?

Well, for some reason I can't put images in my posts. So here's here's the link to the image for my updated monthly graph, which assumes the ~840k estimate for the PS4 and the ~1240k estimate for the XBO: http://i.imgur.com/jIZIiOw.png

The XBO got the biggest boost from a price cut ever. Of course, this was also a price cut that occurred during the holidays.

Still, this is a sobering NPD that reveals just how fickle the U.S. market is. XBO wins mainly through a price cut, showing how important pricing is for Americans. Price always trumps quality in in the U.S. of A (of course YMMV on the relative quality of each system; I personally think the XBO leaves much to be desired). Of course, even pricing won't save your system if it doesn't have COD, GTA, etc., on it. The Wii U deserves far more love than it gets, and despite having a great library of quality games that actually work, it gets ignored because it doesn't have the big AAA games. Gamers piss me off sometimes.

Of course, these results are objectively good for the industry as a whole. The XBO had the best second November (first Nov. of the first full year) of any system ever, and the PS4 is not trailing too far behind where the Wii and PS2 were in their second November. If the numbers above are correct, combined sales of the PS4, XBO, and Wii U for November were about 2,325,000, thus making it the best early November of any generation. Combined PS2, GC, and Xbox sales were about 2,304,000 in November 2001 and 2,254,000 in November 2002, while combined Wii, 360, & PS3 sales were 2,217,000 in November 2007. Overall, the U.S. market as a whole remains very healthy.

Really nice graph. It really shows how big of a boost the XBO truly got.

Yeah, BF was very civilized this year.  I figured more people were just shopping online this year.

The 1.2 million source is from who ?

I know nintendo numbers are official, but the others ?

It was also confirmed by a tweet from a Verge editor. Basically it came directly from the NPD report.

Check the comments tho. There are some claiming it's bullshit and that guy's source was actually gaf. The Verge editor just confirmed MS's victory, not the 1.2 million. I have no doubt myself the leaks are accurate but MS really needs to release some PR claiming the 1.2 million achievement to clear up any lingering doubt.

PR comments:

Microsoft:

“We are committed to making Xbox the best place to play, with this year’s best games, the best community of gamers to play with, and terrific value. And we are amazed by the excitement Xbox fans have shown to start off this holiday. November set a new record for sales of Xbox One, and Xbox One was the best-selling console in the US and UK.* Response to the holiday lineup of games on Xbox One was incredible, with Xbox One fans buying more games in November in the U.S. than any other gen eight platform and enjoying over 357 million hours of gameplay globally. In fact, more fans logged into Xbox Live across Xbox One and Xbox 360, and enjoyed more entertainment, than any other month in the history of Xbox. We love to see the excitement from our fans and are grateful for their passion, support and contributions to the Xbox community.” – Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President, Xbox Marketing.

Nintendo:

"Overall sales of Nintendo 3DS software in November increased by more than 40 percent over the same month in 2013, thanks in part to three huge games:

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire: The next great Pokémon adventures for Nintendo 3DS launched on Nov. 21 and have already sold nearly 1.5 million combined physical and digital units in the U.S. alone.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS: The best-selling individual portable game in the U.S. so far in 2014, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 1.5 million physical and digital units in the U.S. since it launched on Oct. 3.
November was also a strong month for Nintendo on the console side, as sales of Wii U hardware and software increased by more than 10 percent and more than 90 percent, respectively, over the same period in 2013. In fact, the week of Nov. 23 was the biggest single week of Wii U hardware sales since the system launched in November 2012. Other Wii U highlights for the month include:

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has sold nearly 710,000 combined units since launching on Nov. 21. With a current Metacritic score of 92, the latest iteration in Nintendo’s venerable fighting franchise is one of the best-reviewed games in the current generation of systems.
Nov. 21 also saw the arrival of amiibo, Nintendo’s new platform where gaming’s most recognizable characters can be used in different ways in many compatible games. Sales of amiibo are approximately equal to sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U so far, while Link, Mario and Pikachu (in that order) have been the best-selling figures to date."
