Forums - Nintendo - Ducktales remastered and why I think it is awful

Back in the days Ducktales was one of my favourite games. Pure joy.

So I got the remaster and turned it off after 10 minutes. Reason? The stupid talkative main character who cannot shut his mouth but needs to talk for a minute after every 5 seconds of platforming. Advice: keep your mouth shut like all good Junp n Run characters, i.e. Mario.

First purchase I regret on the Wii U

Agreed. The NES version is far better and I consider that an overrated NES platformer. Probably the first Wii U game I regreted, too.

It actually bugs me because, rarther than introducing new people to the quality and rarely recaptured gameplay of the NES era (which is great and worth exporing, if a little inaccessable), it shows NES games in a very bad light.

Didn't care much for the original, but I thought those 3D levels looked out of place with the hand-painted sprites. Would have been nice if everything looked like a cartoon in 2D.

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

Bought it from the eshop 50% off and it's currently downloading. I'm sure I'm gonna regret it too though, just wanted to check it out.

i didn't mind it!

I enjoyed it and I enjoyed the cartoon voice actors in it. Maybe because I loved the show as a kid too.

I agree that the voice acting is overdone, but surprisingly, it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would because the acting/voices are well done.

It's definitely not as good as the original for its time, but I don't think it's awful. Now, the remake of Castle of Illusion on the other hand...

Still better than Square's FFVII remaster xD

Why didn't you jsut shut the voices off. And run the game in 8bit music mode. To get it close to the NES version.

I enjoyed it!

But yes, I skip through all the cut scenes because of the annoying voice acting.
