The thing that has changed is that youtube removed the option to use the old embed code, which is the only thing that works on VGC. Hence people would have to use now external tools to convert videos into the old code.

That is pretty weird. The data seems the same but it uses a different syntax for this video. Might have something to do with flash.

So apparently it doesn't work with every video. This this is the first video I've seen that didn't work.

The even weirder thing is that the website is able to parse it just fine during the edit.
