They should have called it the Fappening. The only game where you can literally fap and shit your pants at the same time.

I remember being supremely jealous when this was announced for PS3 (I owned a 360). Now I have a PS4 and I can't wait for it. It's a must-buy for any horror fan. Plus, the whole campy teen horror cliche hasn't been done before in a game.
After watching the trailer they revealed a while back I wasn't interested in the slightest, but now i've seen gameplay I'm really interested. The multiple choice, permadeath is great. If the story branches out well based on your actions and isn't just exactly the same with certain people missing then it could be fantastic, even if it's short.
| celador said: I like the look of it. The mechanic of permadeath for each of the characters sounds really good, and will hopefully mean the game is worth playing through more than once. I don't know if the masked guy we saw is the only enemy in the game, it would be cool if there was more, but he is at the very least decently designed. From what I have read the slasher cliche/ B Movie feel is what they are aiming for. As for why it gets criticised, it's because it is more of a story driven game that doesn't have deep gameplay. It is fine for Telltale games but no-one else apparently. Personally, I'm glad that Sony funds such a wide variety of games. Give me this over another shooter any day. |
yeah it does. its got me super excited. i hope they make the story good and there are no plot holes, they shouldnt considering how long its been in development and the transition from PS4- PS4 shouldnt have effected the story.
and i dont get that, it doesnt have deep gameplay yeah, but the interactivity has a deep impact, you can literally lose this game, not just be restarted at the lastest check point. 8 characters, all of them can die. but as you said, telltale can do it and win awards, anybody else does it and its shitty. cant wait for reviews to slam it because of a "lack of gameplay".

Nope. I could maybe take the extremely boring teeny horror setting but that clip turned me off completely.
It doesn't even try to be anything more than a cheap horror flick that is sporting all the tropes that make this genre a complete joke.
Unless they rebrand it as a comedy game instead of pretend horror i'm not interested.

Just been looking through a similar thread on neogaf, and someone has played a demo at Pax
Says it isn't just on rails, there are areas to explore, different things in the environment to interact with, some light puzzling and something called 'extra investigation' if you find something specific to the storyline

C'mon, king. This game is trying to imitate teenager slasher movies. Plot holes are a must!
Heck, they even can toy around with it to make things more entertaining. This kind of genre has a big tolerance with plot holes!

Well said. They're not all home runs, but I appreciate the attempts and variety.
Until Dawn looks like a fun evolution of the nteractive drama thing started with Heavy Rain. It's at least a rental, maybe a buy due to all the apparent choice permutations.
