When Final Fantasy 7 was released on Steam it used the midi music files released on the PC version.  It's been updated, but watch Square Enix do the same for the PS4 version, then watch them not patch it.  PS4 players can't mod, so  it'll be the worst version if there's no patch.

I don't get why SE don't remaster the game, seriously.

Not a remake. A remaster. Replace the backgrounds with HD versions, replace the character models with more detailed ones, remaster the audio, call it a day. Would cost very little and sell a lot.

Not sure it would cost Squeenix very little. They took two years to remaster FF X, and while admittedly I'm not sure if that's because the whole thing was done by an unpaid intern on his breaks I have no difficulty believing Squeenix can bloat the project if given half the chance.
