Weird.

I guess it's not too expensive for Sony to secure some Japanese franchises, since they were already skewed towards PlayStation to begin with, let alone now that it's handily outselling the competition.

Regardless, sucks for Xbox owners.

I'm doubting that. Ghosts was the worst Call of Duty in recent history and still sold 23.49M copies vs. 27.4 for MW3 (highest selling PS3/360 combo) or better yet, vs. 23.76M for MW2, since quality is the issue you're bring up, and MW2 was the best one (at least in my opinion).

I'm just saying, unless the game revolutionizes either its own series or the entire genre and brings in new gamers, it will sell roughly the same, multiplatform or exclusive, because the current fanbase is still the same, so they'll get it regardless. Tekken has roughly "4 million fans", so if Tekken 7 came out tomorrow, around 4 million people would buy the game, whether they get a PS4 to do it, get an XBone to do it, or have both consoles already and pick one platform over the other.

It isn't quite as simple as that though. Install bases do matter a great deal as well. Just look at Bayonetta 2, the Wii U's small installbase means it is very unlikely it will ever match the sales of the first game, while if it had been multiplat it surely would have...

Ok, the WiiU is the outlier here, because it's selling so poorly, 3rd parties don't sell well on Nintendo, and Bayonetta wasn't a "big" game to begin with. It crawled to whatever sales it has now.

While I somewhat agree I also have to point out Nintendo. It was garenteed to fall short, audiance dont care for 3rd parties or mature games looking at sales. At least being exclusive will help push some sales. I think if it was a PS4 exclusive though it could have matched Bayo1.

Very interesting news indeed. It's funny because it seems that this announcement was meant for the PSX event. Apparently the video was released a day early which is a shame because that would have been an epic reveal.

I think this will be a timed exclusive like how Tomb Raider is with the XOne. If it's not a timed exclusive that's a pretty big deal sense Street Fighter is THE fighting game.

Possibly timed but more of a chance that the future 'sequels'(if you can call them that) ie Hyper/Super SFV would come to X1. The trailer does see to dogmatically state it is exclusive to PS4 and PC unlike the Tomb Raider reveal where it stated something like "Exclusive to xbox... holiday 2015". But who knows.... Sucks for Street Fighter fans who don't own a PS4 though.

Now I can play Street Fighter exclusively on my PS4, thank god no other console will tarnish my experience with the game. 10/10 will buy multiple times.
