The gifs and pics fail to capture how realistic it looks on a 1080p HDTV. Its just wow.

What are you saying? The car controls are wonderful for an arcade racer, and AI is subjective, though its always quite aggressive in Evolution's games. |
I'm saying what I've experienced. I just don't like how any of the cars handle. The mixture of arcade and real world physics just aggravates me. It could be due to me only playing sims for the last few years, but I just don't like controlling the cars. I will say that drifting is very rewarding in this game.
There is a difference between aggressive AI and moronic AI. I think it all has to do with how the game handles rubber banding (worst I've seen). And the ramming from behind (heh) when coming (heh heh) into a corner is just ridiculous. Even on straight aways the AI will ram you instead of trying to pass you cleanly.

Maybe its time we start petitioning the review writers that when major issues are found in games at launch which detract from the overall performance that they do a follow up review a couple of months later. Drive club / AC-U / MCC are all prime examples of games with issues on day 1 which are included in reviews but which have/or are in process of being eliminated.
Too often reviewers rush out reviews based on the game on day 1 (or pre release) and don't pay any attention to the game as it develops and evolves. Reviews should be a fluid thing.

If you compare it with sim games you'll obviously be disappointed. That said the weather makes driving more of a challenge so you might like it.
Have you played any MotorStorm game before? They were developed by the same studio and had terrible rubber-banding. You can say that rubber-band and aggressive AI are trademarks of Evolution's games lol. But that's part of what makes them different and special to me.
Still waiting for the PS+ Edition to try before I buy. This looks really good, though. I'll wait either another month or for the game to hit $30 (it's already 35 on amazon).

But maybe those reviews (that can have some influence on sales) will help us to have games that actualy work on day 1.
We all agree that it's better to delay a game than deliver it broken, eventhough it was kind of unexpected.

Nah, publishers should be incentivized to release their games in a finished state and one of those incentives is that a bad score given at release due to bugs or other issues should stay that way even after everything is fixed.

Tracks and most of the cars were supposed to be free from the beginning. I don't know if they have decided to give everything for free.
