As I said in the other thread, they'll release in 2017. 3DS successor will probably have a early-mid 2017 release with the home console releasing holiday 2017. Assuming that the whole "Fusion" concept is what they're going with, it would make sense to release them side-by-side in this manner - with some kind of perk for buying both (a discount on the second one bought, eshop credit, free game/s, something like that)

2019, they'll want to combine their two platforms and will be unwilling to rush ahead of the competition when doing so apparently gets them disparagingly labelled 'last gen'.

They will release their next system at the end of 2018. It takes a long time to get all of the specifications down, not to mention 1st party games for the console as well at launch.

The last thing they want to do is release their next console too soon that will cause it to do Wii U numbers

2017, if not 2016 the way things are going. Assuming game selection doesn't improve I don't know who would be ready to put money down on a new Nintendo console outside of those who only want it for Nintendo games. Basically the same audience the Wii U appeals to.

late 2016

Fusion Idea is an excellent one , because at least in my country  the majority of home console owners <> mobile console owners.

Nintendo needs more first party games in its home console to compete with playstation/xbox.

I think it will depend in next xbox2 ps5 console launches , there is no meaning to launch more than one year earlier.

(and hardware components price drop with time)

The mobile console should come earlier though, because Nintendo doesn't have competition there.

2017 or later for home console for me.

They're probably not going to drag their feet for any longer than until Christmas 2017.

I'm half suspecting them to make something entirely surprising the next time around, though.

It was nothing to do with the timing of the release and everything to do with the conceived capabilities of the system. Wii launched after the 360 and was still considered last gen.

Late 2016 or 2017 at the latest would be my guess. Unless Smask and Mario Kart deliver a christmas miracle for them. I also expect it to be the 3DS's successor. Vita is showing how much more software can be delivered with a more unified architechture.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

November/December 2016.

2018 or 2019. Earlier then that they will Dreamcast themselves.
