It will take bit of time, but now that the PS3 is healthily over 20% and actually over 21% while the 360 has come down dramatically from over 40% a while ago to now under 35%...this number will continue to drop over the coming months.
Prediction (June 12th 2017)
Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)
By the end of this year, unless FFXIII and GT5 won`t come by the Christmas.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.

Late 2009, early 2010 (if ever).
Likely we will see the 360 replaced in early 2010 (although this time MS will support two consoles). Sometime after the Xbox3602, PS3 will overtake Xbox3601.

To overtake by years end, it has to outsell the 360 by 150,000 a week and i cant see that happening but i think it'll do it by next summer.

It won't be this year, but it might be close... I'll say mid 2009 (remember as they get closer they will change less, so it will probably take the same amount of time for them to get to within 5% of each other (from the 14% now) as it will to change that last 2.5% each.

Unless those 10 to 15 million people also buy PS3's with their games, then yes, I doubt. You think 360 sales are setting still?
