For your consideration, the following meteric:

Sometimes I think people forget that parents can have a heave influence on sales results.  In the sample above consider the following:

·         The vast majority of buyers of the Wii U were parents.  For the Xbox One, this number amounted for 2/3 or purchases.

·         The PS4 was the only console were the majority of people bought the console for themselves at 55%

·         Are parents more likely to use an app that gives them credit for reporting ther purchases?  In otherwords, are the results skewed in favor of parents who would use such an app for rebates and rewards?

·         As a responsible parent, doesn't it make sense to get the cheapest console for your kids? (When comparing to similar consoles like the Xbox One and PS4)

 ·         Why are only 8% of Wii U owners buying the consoles for themselves?  And conversely, does the higher price of the PS4 motivate purchases for ownership reasons?

The poll is bad. As a parent I will make sure that my Kid's preference in consoles is my preference :P
Price shouldn't matter with consoles. In astronomical proportions every console costs the same. Why would I want to save just 50 bucks on a long term investment? I will always look at the value and not the price.

Loll these guys again? I really think we shouldn't take these guys too seriously for anything since its just all based on random users with their smartphone app. With that being said, yes, I would choose the wiiu obviously

More PS4 buyers want to keep the console for themselves whereas more XB1 buyers intend to get rid of it.. Nice ;p jk

On a more serious note I'll definitely buy Nintendo consoles for my future kids.. I'm enjoying Wii U myself and you're not supposed to have your first encounter with many real life concerns as long as you're a child. Eg. whether to kill Playboy X or Dwayne. Later on some of those concerns can enhance the quality of a certain game in a lot of ways.

Why should responsible parents look on the price of a console? Responsible Parents should look on the Age Ratings of the Video Games which are available on the console they buy for their kids.

Of course it would be my preference that was important when buying a console/game for a child.

Children a) don't know what content is suitable for them and b) don't know when a game is good or not.

Therefore responsible parents buy Nintendo; age appropriate and high quality.

If studIes have shown that violence in video games had no effect on kids why does the age rating matter. Doesn't make parents more responsible just less educated.

Because that is assuredly untrue and that's why this report is bogus. Only 8% of WiiU owners bought it for themselves? Madden 15 is the best selling game in November? Meanwhile Smash doesn't chart, but Watch_Dogs does? Everything about the report is fishy.

Many parents are just trying to save a couple of bucks.. price can mean a lot to them when buying for their kids.. a whole lot. " The power of parents and being the grown up with money trying to keep as much of it."
