According to this site, the 3DS version first week sales were 50k with like 8x the install base. It doesn't seem like Smash is real big in the UK.

I knew 3DS would canibalize WiiU version.
Europe never was a nintendo friendly region though.
Smash was never huge in the UK though.. :/

I wouldn't call 50k FW (3ds) vs 32k-42k (WiiU) canibalizing. For Comparison, SSBB had 78k FW in the UK

Not surprising, the UK is Nintendo's weakest market. Now lets see how it sells in the rest of Europe...

this. france, germany, spain and the rest, however, will be a different story. in all three i believe wii u is outselling the xbox one. uk has never been a good market for nintendo (notice i'm not saying europe as a whole).

Eh?What about handhelds or wii!Sorry but this comment is an unfair generalization!
Also,it is quite decent.
It sold near the 3ds version in 3ds which has 2.5m install base vs wii u 360k+!Smash isn't as huge as is in USA and Japan in Europe and especially in the UK...

This!It was expected and I don't know why they call it horrible or why they anticipated more sales given the uk situation(I m quite satisfied with the 43k)!Amazon was an indicator,on the uk site smash was really low and peaked at 20th and fell fast but on Germany's and France's was quite high and peaked at 4th...Currently it is up and down,it doesn't have a continuous fall.
