That's why. The Xbox division is one of the less-profitiable divisions within Microsoft and there has already been talks of investors wanting to get rid of Xbox. Microsoft can't afford to make the Xbox One a financial disaster, especially if it still gets outsold WW on a regular basis.

One day you find out that investors do not run MS, never have and probabloy never will.

i dont care. we know xb1 won by a very small margin. if u like u can see it as a technical tie.
but even a tie is win for the xb1 right now. no more ps4 is outselling the xb1 by 1,5:1 in the uk
and this better us and uk sales will also result in better overall worldwide sales. so the ps4 outselling xb1 2:1 or more worldwide is hopefully history.

ps4 can win this gen worldwide. i have no problem with that.
but xb1 need to win the us. tie uk at least and maybe get china.
i just dont want to see a ps2 generation sales wise.

Clearly not hard since SOny has done it every month every week this year, not every one is blind to the fact a whole wide big world exists.


Xbox is winning in the 1st and 3rd biggest gaming markets now, so the tide is turning.


actually xbox used to win in those 2 markets by a lot more in the very recent past. Now they are limited to winning a few weeks of the year and losing those markets over all for the year. I'd say the tide is turning in the PS4's favor but if you only look at the last 4/5 weeks in the UK/US, I'm sure you can make yourself feel real good :)

People aren't running in droves to get an X1 because it's a few bucks cheaper. It's because they are  convinced of its value which they weren't a year ago.

I totally disagree with you. The major reason why the PS4 is so far ahead (esp. in NA) is because of the price tag. And the sales of the Xbox One during the last 3 weeks proves it. Casual people are going in a shop to buy :

And Xbox One / PS4 are both branded as it. Then they look at the PRICE. Not the CPU, the GPU, or the few pixels they will get with one and not with another.
Now, it is too late anyway esp. in Europe where the Playstation brand was already stronger and people buy a PS4 instead of an Xbox despite the price (which is not lower everywhere yet anyway) because their friends have a PS4.

Another point to prove that is the E3 2013... I mean the only time people said Playstation won the E3 was when? When they announced the price. The price is everything. If (and I know, it is a if and I cannot back it with any proof) but the Xbox One would be at the same price it will be almost even today and if the Xbox One was priced lower it would be in front. Every generation proves it (when a console is launching at the same time).

Lower price sales better than anything else for the same kind of machine

that was a joke LMAO. A humble joke to be more precise and it's funny you say price is 95% of the reason consoles sell. You like that number don't you :) 

So the Xbox One is now beating the PS4 in the US... Last time I checked the price was the ONLY thing that changed. They did not add up some pixels or anything else to the games/Xbox One. If everything, the last 3 weeks proves the price is a major (if not the main) factor.

Of course in Europe where the PS4 dominiation is well ahead it will be hard to come back even with a lower price. But if the Xbox One was launched last year at a less expensive price than the PS4. It would be a very very different figure.

Not saying it's not a big factor but it's never THE factor.

And concerning the PS3, there were a lot more reasons to its initial failure than just the price. Price was just the cherry on the shit sandwich.

price is a major factor that's really true, but then again it comes with value and price ratio, which has the best value in " common gamers (mainstream gamers) eyes  ".  Price is important if the value is there, if it just a price then Wii U should be the winner of 8th generation console.

I just have to ask when talking about price.....why is it only relevant when discussing the PS4/XB1 or PS3/360 last gen? I mean if price REALLY was the most important factor then why do the Nintendo consoles bar the Wii always sell the least even though they are the cheapest? This is something that has always bothered me when I see a lot of discussions on here. It just always brings to mind the thought PRICE does not equal VALUE.

Anyway sorry for going off topic....and again congrats on the XB1 winning BF and congrats to BOTH the PS4 and XB1 for what seems to have been INCREDIBLE BF sales!

The huge difference with the WiiU was the WOW / Purple Cow Factor. It was "something else".
The PS4/Xbox One are virtually the same gadget so you pick one or another :) I believe this is why the price was not a factor.
