Forums - Microsoft - Congratulations to Microsoft for a huge comeback!

Microsoft never really needed to make a "comeback" because they were always there and current. They've always made billions, even in a "bad" year. I think Vista was a good OS and it was adopted well by consumers. Zune was simply an underrated media player that was actually awesome. But they are still doing very well.

Zune HD was incredible.  It still is.

As for the comeback?  Was it ever in doubt?  I mean they have the means to drop price and they did.  I think if anything it was predicatble...They aren't going to just lay down. I was down on MS for years, but they have been killing it the past year.  Kudos!

Microsoft is my favorite company in the world. I love all their products.

Windows Phone has frustrated me for years, but I can't go Android or Apple because I adore the OS so damn much.  It doesn't get enough credit how crazy good the design is.

I'm glad they aren't out as because they've made Halo and currently hold Killer Instinct. But I personally will never buy another one of the systems until they get rid of Xbox live gold memberships. Same goes to Sony.

So I probably never will get there systems lol.

MS never had a chance? I'm pretty sure they had every chance. Considering how cocky they were with their anti consumer ideas and how a boat load of people on here and elsewhere tipped them to dominate, I'd reckon a lot of people don't agree with you.

I'm sure you are proud to support them but thankfully a lot haven't because those are the people who have made it better for you. And why have you got 3 X1's? I can't imagine buying 3 PS4's. I'd spend the money the other 2 would cost on games. Would you not do the same?

Well it is because hopefully everybody is not "you" and people have different ways of doing things :)
I have 3 Xbox One (mine, my wife/living room one and one for my kids). We are playing a lot together (and at the same time) and having one Xbox One will just not work at all. And I can imagine a lot of other families out there in the same situation. I can also imagine a lot of people like you who do not need that setup.

2 PS4's maybe but 3 is overkill. If he has kids that want one each then fair enough.

Nope. I will have 3 Xbox Ones in my home soon. I don't own multiple platforms. Don't have the time. Had a ps4 and sold it and I have no interest in Nintendo. 3 xboxes. I have my white Xbox one in the family room, my black Xbox one in my man cave, and I will be buying a third for the bedroom. Wanna play Xbox when I wake up? Done. Wanna play Xbox in the man cave after work when the kids are asleep? Done. Wanna play Xbox in my big ass recliner in the family room? Done. I love the ecosystem and I'm investing in it for this gen. Not overkill. It's just because I want to.

They realized how fucked up their system would be with their original ideas that they were forced to release something more consumer friendly.

It has been nice. Microsoft is not evil like most people claim on internet forums. Even if you hate Microsoft, you can't deny they have had one heck of a comeback. Yes, they will lose worldwide in console sales but even Microsoft knows that. They never had a chance worldwide. But they have listened to their fans and gave them what they want. Price cuts, world class exclusives, monthly updates, etc. I'm proud to support the platform. I'm going to be buying my 3rd Xbox One this Xmas for me and the wife's bedroom. Thank you Microsoft.

Why do you think I have no games if I buy a third Xbox one????  I have too many games. I buy 3 xboxes because I can. Simple.

I had both last generation, but this gen is just Xbone.  I just bought a PS3 for the BD player, which was brilliant.  I have no use for it this gen.

Yeah, I guess but their vision was correct.  Digital gaming is getting to the point of the norm now.  They were just too forward with it.

their comeback has been pretty decent i suppose.

just imagine if MS would have been pro-consumer from the start instead changing after months of getting kicked in the balls for their horrible early decisions. they could have dominated by even more than the ps4 currently is if they would have just not been soo pretentious and arrogant.
