Forums - Gaming - XBOX ONE vs PS4 Durability Test

While the X1 seems more durable, who would really throw a console (any console) from 15 feet high?

That's sad on so many levels... It was like watch a Lamborgini and a short bus both being dropped from 15 stories up.

Well the Lambo is faster at everything, as even its airodynamics made it faster falling.

yeah they really should of done heat test, does anyone drop there consoles?

I think Xbox one would win the heat test as well anyway tho, just from being bigger and probably more air flow.

Well better not throw my console from such a height then.

My heart heart watching them fall from that height.... Please don't drop your system like that.

Well, it would have been interesting if they had dropped the XBO properly. The first drop, they both land on their side, so it's a fair test. On the 2nd drop, he let's the XBO drop somewhat sideways, so it didn't land like the PS4 did. The PS4 took all the damage at one side, while the XBO was able to shift as it hit the ground (it also landed on a corner), spreading the force. I demand a redo!

To make it fair they should have dropped the Xbone directly on it's Hard Drive. Just saying.

Hmm, pie.

Better make sure my PS4 doesn't miraculously fly off my desk top, go out the 2nd floor window and land in the stone walkway in my front yard.

Stupid test. They could have done so much more.

Yes, PS4 landed directly on the HDD, absorbing all the contact. It's no wonder it died.

XBox One landed on the corner and then flipped to the other side and absorbed the rest of the contact on the side with the BD drive, allowing most of the contact to be absorbed by the shell and not the components up against the side, other than the BD drive.

I wouldn't be shocked if the BD drive was dead, but it's possible it could still be used for digital.

If they both landed indentical on their sides where their HDD drives are I am sure both would have died. Not that it matters though, as nobody drops a PS4/XBone from 15 feet.
