These numbers are undertracked...

The really funny thing out of all of this?  It was Nate4drake who first mentioned PC in the first place. So really you should be bitching at him for bringing it up.

Nope, you are wrong.

Samus was the one that started all this with some silly rant about not understanding why consoles sell so well. Some one replied him with a list of games, and his reply was if all those games aren't also on the PC. Thats what Nate4drake was replying to.

As I said, these things are never satrted by console ppl. I don't care much about PC guys talking about PC stuff in a PC thread, but its how or why they somehow make every console thread become a PC thread that is annoying. It generally kills any kinda contructive thread development and the threads pretty much become this. I have seen it happen too many times.

Samus is a Nintendo guy though, using PC as a crutch to win arguments even though he admits he doesn't play much on PC lol

Lol, so you're saying 360>PS3 currently in Europe? Do you know how unlikely that sounds?

Where do you live?

so you mean to tell me that in the EU where the PS3 sells way more than the 360, they're phasing out the PS3 but not the 360?

In fairness, he's probably from the UK where a lot of people are just buying PS4 instead of PS3. I think PS3's sales were cannibalised by PS4.

Of course the rest of Europe is a different story

Yeah, you're right my bad, was responding off of a tablet last night and those things just plain suck trying to navigate through VGC with (at least, for a newb like me).  Regardless, the person who brought it up, admittedly doesn't buy many games for PC, and uses a handle Samus Aran, so...I think it's safe to assume they're not a PC Gamer first.  The point is, not every one of these discussions arises because of a PC gamer.

Anecdotally (I don't speak for everyone), the worst offenders are games writers (console), who, for some reason feel the need to throw some kind of comment or intentional jab at PC gaming in their story.  What ends up happening, is a PC gamer who simply can't resist the flame bait, goes in to correct whatever mistatement or misinformation was made, and ends up taking half a page+ correcting what took a mere sentence to utter (the old saying of, it takes more effort to put out a fire, than to start one).  I would say most of the time console gamers simply focus on their own, though, just like their are fans of Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft, you also have your console gamer's who intentionally try to piss off the PC crowd (it goes both ways, of course, though, why people hold PC trolls over console trolls is beyond me...a troll is a troll, worthy of being ignored).

In this particular case, not only did people simply outright jump hip deep in his shit, for simply making a correction.  He made no attempt to say it was better, simply that you can use a PC on a TV ("You know that you can do the exact same thing with a PC right? Just sayin'").  The goalpost moving over what's convenient, or who you live with is irrelevant (convience is objective person to person, and living with other people amounts to jack and shit, both would be using the TV when others could be watching TV) to the statement he was making.

Being hyperbolic and stating every console thread gets derailed to be about PC's, does the situation no favors, considering it is pure hyperbole (just go through the threads on here, yeah, some get derailed for a time, but not nearly 'every') Frankly, I've learned to ignore the misinformation (for the most part, haha, still not 100% at it).  It's been going on for years and few seem to care about facts (costs of building a PC, the ease of connecting a PC to a TV, hell, for the longest time people seemed to have no freakin clue what kind of connections a GPU supported...hint, GPU's had HDMI and DVI ports long before TV/consoles did), and just want to blast each other from a personal preference standpoint, and completely disregarding actual facts presented to them.

Again, this isn't to say which is better.  To me, personally, I have an opinion based upon many things (control preference, multipurpose use of a PC etc..) from a hardware standpoint, there are also undeniable facts.  However, for many reasons, console ends up being preferable to a great many people (And I still play on console, don't get me wrong).  Still, that doesn't mean that you can't hook up a PC up to a TV.  It just means not everyone wants to build their own PC, invest in the parts, invest in learning about it etc...  that's fine.  There's plenty of things I have no interest in, that others do.  That's life.  Nothing to get up in arms over.

I'm aware Xbone dropped slightly last week, but this does not affect my argument at all. Its slight decrease was because the effect from Halo was not enough to counter the drop from COD bundles, but nevertheless it helped sustain it, otherwise it would have dropped much more notably (logically speaking).

Wii U's increase might be bigger percentage wise (by 1% lol), but let's not forget that it only increased 1k week-over-week... that's a pitiful number, and totally logical. I don't know if Xbone is undertracked or not, but WIi U's increase proves absolutely nothing imo.

A usual seasonal boost plus GTA of 17%?  no,  its wrong.

We will see, but I am sure I am right on this.

I would agree with you if Xbone didn't have huge bundles and titles released over the past three weeks, raising sales to a higher-than-usual level. I'm curious, why are you neglecting the fact that sales were boosted last week in particular by Halo bundles and the effect of that on this week's numbers?

seems I was right....

I did say Xbone could be undertracked, my argument with you was about the inclusion of Wii U's increase percentage as proof. I don't see what's changed... we know Xbone won last week, but do we know how much it sold? Could PS4 be overtracked? If you have any numbers or estimations, please feel free to share...

My point was the boost relative to other consoles was off, was too low.  Clearly I was correct.

VGC has Xbone at 57k last week which sounds somewhat accurate considering we know PS4/Xbone did around 100k+ each... it is the PS4 that is overtracked it seems. The problem was with PS4's boost, not Xbone's.
