Brazil is good place to end because looking forward Sony probably sees the road to next two being filled with controversy as Russia and Qatar are making the news for all the wrong reasons.

Good, FIFA is a corrupt mess right now, and by losing sponsors we might finally start to see change.

Yes. It is about that now. It was as much as £45m a year back in 2011. http://d01.activative.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Champions-League-Final-2011.pdf interesting report this by the way. |
I was talking about USD, which is 45m GBP. Or used to be when the article I read about it was published.
And Sony renewed their contract in 2012 till 2015. So they probably have to pay about 50million GBP / 80 million USD per year now.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

dont think so. this event happens once every 4 years, people naturally gravitate to play fifa/pes games during that time, and as long as the PS brand in king in EU then they will naturaly gravitate to that. and the Champions league adverts have a much bigger effect IMO, as they are every year and have much more games during the year than the world cup does.

no no. this is the advertising deal. remember in the world cups there where ads for the Sony xperia Z2? this means that the next world cup and other matches made by fifa wont have ads. the fifa game is still coming to the PS brands and this doesnt effect the games at all.

Good decision Sony, save some cash and have nothing to do those Fifa egomaniacs, now only if the others would do the same, to see Sepp Blatter and the rest watch helpless as their dirty empire crumbled away would be a wonderful sight to behold.
Sony needed to wash their hands of an organisation like this anyway, regardless of saving money.
Hmm, pie.
