I usually play on normal but I don't mind getting destroyed time to time.I don't really care what others do I mean it's not like they're playing the game for me.
for me it devalue the game and you'll never be good at games if you don't try to challenge yourself. same thing apply to life if you always take the easy road welp don't be surprised if you end up old without being good at anything because you never challenged yourself.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
Because God of War is just square bashing on EASY mode.
I play games on normal most of the time, just because... i don't know...
When I play a game on normal then I can't just breeze past it all, but there's nothing that's so difficult it gets frustrating and ruins the experience. However, if it's a game I'm good at I settle for the hardest difficulty, because if not I'll just breeze through it.
I don't look down upon people that play games on easy though.

If Easy is the right difficulty for you then why not. That's why they have that option. A lot of people are more casual to games, or don't always want a game to last a long time to beat.
I usually start on Normal difficulty, and then if the game is great sometimes re-play on Hard/Ultra difficulties for unlocks & stuff. If a game is annoyingly hard on Normal, I'll probably just lose interest rather than try it in Easy mode but that's just me. I don't try to get my "10+ hours worth" out of every game. If something's not enjoyable then I move on.

I used to think like this too, but some games just aren't enjoyable when they get too hard and sometimes you have to play on easy. I like to game to relax, not to challenge myself and struggle at it cause that's just not fun.
If the games an interactive movie the why not.
I played bioshock infinite on normal but would it have been better on easy?
The plot and world creation would have lost nothing and that's the games strong point. I found the combat on normal ok but generic. Maybe even dragging at some points, but also very easy and forgiving. If I made it a little easier and faster to get through maybe it would have dragged less... or maybe the reduction of challenge would have made it more tedious. It could go either way.
Games that are about gameplay rather than plot need to be at the right difficulty for your skill level.
Mario 3d land was too easy for me at first and felt like effortlessly running through an obstacle course. At first I was disappointed with the game. However, on rescuing the princess and unlocking the special (Hard) worlds the game really became engaging. That was when the difficulty became the right level to test my skill. I might have died plenty of time in the normal worlds but only because it was so easy that I was carelessly running through the game without paying attention.

buying a game for 60$ and just breaze through it is a waste of money in my mind, having a game where I have to pause and think or do some research on how to beat some sections add so much more value to me and the satisfaction when you beat it is a lot greater.
