Forums - Sales - Looks like X1 will get November

Definitely going to be an interesting NPD :)

I think X1 should take November though.

Nothing trumps a price cut...except a price cut with a free game! The unity bundle is just too good of a value to ignore, people would need to think there's a massive difference between the PS4/X1 to not be swayed by the value proposition. That perception simply isn't there amongst the masses.

If these drastic steps didn't work though, then im not sure what else MS could have done. In my opinion, this was the best/right time to do it. The generation isn't too far in, and people are still in the process of migrating from last gen. If they had left this until last year, and the sales trends continued, i think it would have been too late for MS and X1 - even in the US/UK. At least by doing this, US/UK regions become a battleground again.

Given the numbers (VGC), regardless who wins the month, X1 is back in the battle and that's more important that winning NPD.

"back in the battle" Thats a nice thought,  but we all know that price cut is only a temporary boost that will be gone after the holidays, and when the numbers regress after said holiday season next qtr sony will go back to crushing it globally and building their lead back in the us per its trend this cycle.

I love this time of the year.

I dont think that scenario is set in stone. Its quite possible that X1 could win non holiday weeks in the US, if the price differential stays. Momentum can changes especially this early in the gen.

I'll put it in Mario Kart terms.

Microsoft just used a super mushroom on the second lap of the first track. Meanwhile Sony has an infinite amount of stars.

Ummm you do know the price drop is only thru the holidays and only in the US as far as it being early on, microsoft is not sony.  Best case scenario they break even in the us overall and get annihilated in europe and japan not even taking into acct whats gonna happen when sony has a price cut or puts out more of their bigger AAA games as well as when it drops those consoles in china in the next little bit.  At the end of the day its all about marketshare/penetration and microsoft just cant at the global level no matter what stunt they try to pull.

I regrettably have to concede that it looks like all of the X1 deals will indeed cause the X1 to win November. I still don't think the X1  will close the gap by the end of the year though as we will still see PS4 boosts on Nov. 18, Black Friday, and the holidays. Depending on Nov 18 sales and Black Friday its still possible for Sony to take the lead in November but it would be difficult at this point. What's even more impressive than X1s temporary success (will not sustain these sales once the price goes back up and the deals are gone) is the fact that the great X1 sales haven't hurt the PS4 sales. It's still selling over 150k a week which has been an average number for it. These next two weeks in November should be very interesting and make it a close month as far as NPD results go. Also glad to see adjustments made, I figured Sony must be in the 14 millions by now.

The game is WW my friend. And in that case, it won nothing.

In the US, yes. Not overall though.

Hmm.. Don't be so sure..   Thanskgiving and Black Friday are ONLY USA..  So there will be NO sales booast for Sony anywhere else in the world besides the USA.. I still think PS4 will take worldwide for November, but the possibility is there for X1 to have a real chance... for once..

Nope. Why? Because PS4 will see massive gains right alone with the Bone. It will easily offset.

Vgchartz numbers for Xone in US are probably overtracked by 200k already (because of the overtrack in october, they got now really bad numbers for november too...), so please, just wait november NPD, it will be better than these randoms numbers and predictions

I agree with Mrchaos, wait november, it will be better than tons of identics threads

. And eh, if the xone win nov npd,  toastboy44562 will post something good , it's way better than all of these topics :)

Right.VGC always over tracks Xbox too as you said.I seen tons of xbox bundles at major retailers in person.
