It terms of First Party and exclusives, Wii U is by far superior and better value
however overall in terms of third party support, xbone and ps4 dwarf it in the long run

Wii U continues to offer me no value, no matter what anyone says.

It's kinda of his job to speak to the press is it not? They're not going to talk world politics, he's going to give them the best possible pitch for a Wii U.
Nintendo should make a poll on VGC to back it up (as Nintendo wins every poll here) and show it off to the media.
In an ideal world, consumers would own all three consoles and many would find that their Wii U was, indeed, getting most of their play time. As it is, the only people with a chance to perform this kind of case study are the ones who've already purchased a U - i.e. Nintendo fans. This, in turn, skews the results a bit.

well done you summed it up
Yeah, no.
Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.
Wow, you idiots really fell for that lie Reggie told you?
Wii U is NOT better value than other consoles. Here's why:
- Wii U bundles are priced $300.
- Since Nintendo did not have the decency to include a hard drive, you have to spend MOAR $$$ to buy an external hard drive before you can even THINK about using the eshop.
- A typical 500GB hard drive is $50.
- So already, the wii u is $350.
- For the same price of $350, you can get an xbox one. It is quite a bit more powerful and future proof than the wii u. You will get all the third party support you are missing out. It will run the latest games (albeit not at the same level as a PC or even a PS4). Xbox one can also play blurays and dvds which the wii u can't.
- Xbox one also has better online services than the wii u. And please, don't bring up the subscription fee for xbox one. It is very small and you get free games in return. Wii U online on the other hand is dead. Call of duty is a ghosts town on the wii u and vast majority of wii u games do NOT have online functionality to take advantage of the free online.
- Of course the wii u online is free! What is Nintendo even going to charge you for when there miiverse servers are empty as a graveyard. Don't bother bringing up free online.

He says $299 for Wii U + 2 games. This whole holiday you can get an Xbox One AC bundle with a year of EA Access. That's an Xbox One and 8 games for $380
What else would he say? It's all subjective at any rate, some obviously also saw the value in a 600$ PS3 when that launched and some though a 99$ Gamecube was too steep.
Price is certainly a factor in consumer electronics but perceived value is where it's at and that is, without a doubt, the Wii U's biggest problem; a great many consumers simply disagree with Reggie.
