Forums - Sony - Vita Sales Heating Up Thanks To PS4’s Remote Play

"We have not stood back from it. We have not started to withdraw from it. I think we’re just seeing it maybe move into a new place as far as game content goes."

So in other words, you want more gamez for the vita? Go buy a ps4!

Sonic's got nothing on that spin.

Not exactly the best news I'd say. It's like saying the PS Vita is now selling quite better because it can be the PS4 controller.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I wonder if he paused for a few seconds after the question because he couldn't remember what a Vita was.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

:D Wow now that is spin city. Somebody call Michael J. Fox.

What he's really trying to say is we're no longer interested in the vita platform and see no financial sense in continuing to invest any further game development into it. Basically the vita as a core gaming device is over and will live on as a mere accessory to the ps4.

Sad. It had lots of potential too.

more PR spin.

“Vita sales have actually been picking up ever since we enabled Remote Play on the handheld"

BS!!! Sales have picked up in japan due to great third party support this year as developers jumped finally from PSP. If sales are picking up because of Remote play, then whats going on in the US? Unless maybe Europe????????

I do feel bad however...

I dream of what the Vita could have been. They could have given me ports of Skies of Arcadia, Freedom Fighters, Valkyria Chronicles, and many original and unique games. Now, it's just a peripheral for the PS4 (I use mine for games, btw--currently addicted to EDF) and it's not a perfect one for that. I've had a lot of issues w/ remote play lately.

Oh well. Whatever silver lining we can find, these days.
