Honestly, I would PREFER if the game had some form of loading screens. As much as I love being able to enter from place to place without interruption, It feels like the worlds could be bigger and more detailed with even just a cut scene when entering new areas for a few seconds.

XB had load screens. So I think this one will as well.

I've never played a JRPG and I'm wondering if this will be too much for me to handle as my first one.

You should be fine regardless of whether you have played a JRPG before or not.
This series has the depth of the JRPG series but is different at the same time.

It has some Western elements/influences thrown in: battles happen in real time and there is fast travel.

It is an open world game with a good story (presumably, judging by previous entries) and depth.

If it's anything like the first one, then yeah, it's a fairly accessible starting point for those unfamiliar with the genre.

Oh yeah that's right. Monolith wants it to be a mix of Western and Japanese styles.

Wait, the maps are actually seamless this time? That would make it the first open world JRPG in history :)

Missed that part. I hope it's seamless.

It's been confirmed since the game was announced. So yes the game will be seamless and about 100 square miles (XB was 20 and XV is looking to be 13 and skyrim is 16)

I still won't get my hopes up until I see with my own eyes what their interpretation of seamless is.

Sequel to one of the best game ever. I would say Xenoblade Chronicles X is perfect game to introduce you to JRPG.

Hope they don't bog down the campaign with intrusive, unnecessary online components.

Are you worried they will cripple the game's level design?

More that the online will intrude on the single player game. I don't want any shitty online interaction, I just want everyone else to piss so I can enjoy my solo experience.
