Forums - Music Discussion - Who is your favorite rock band/rock artist?

What I mean is that most pop music litterally isn't real. Get somebody who's good looking and has a decent voice. Give them lyrics. Make beats in a studio. Auto-tune their voice to perfection. Lip-synch at concerts and live performances. Profit. Here are some quotes backing up my claims.

Yeah, but especially in the 80s the same could be said (obviously to a lesser extent, because business and technological advances) about several rock acts. I'm not a fan of this kind of thing, but to be honest I'm open to everything and if the music's good I'll enjoy it.

I make music, check it out here on Bandcamp, Spotify, and Youtube!

I have a huge list of bands that I listen to regularly. I'd probably say my main gotos are Third Eye Blind, Blink-182 (before their self titled CD came out), The Killers, Muse and I'm sure there's a lot more that I'm forgetting.

Wow, so hard to pick just one. I guess I'll go with Metallica. Alter Bridge would be close behind.

Foo Fighters or RHCP. Metal and rock are two different types of music, in my opinion.

Metallica (in the 80s), Tool, and Pantera.

On a slightly different, but related topic: Rock has been so awful to me for almost a decade now. Are there any good new bands out there that someone can suggest to me?

Fan of rock artists huh? Cool, I like some rock artists myself also, here are some of my favorites:
Ernestina Gallina, pet rock painter, a talented rock artist from italy.

Some exquisite rock art right there.

Linwell Ford is also a amazing Rock artist:

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Linkin Park and Rise Against are my favorite rock bands. I'm a fan of others like Red Hot Chilli Pepper, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age and many more but I'm not super dedicated to them, just know a healthy amount of songs from each.

My favorite band is Foster the People, but they are more pop than anything else.

Some of my all time favorite rock bands / artists of all time are The Police, Pink Floyd, Genesis / Phil Collins, Oasis, Alice In Chains, and Soul Coughing.

Today, there aren't many traditional rock bands that I'm into, aside from Alice In Chains' two most recent albums which IMO are just as good as anything the band put out with Layne Staley .  These days its mostly metal for me... old school bands like Iron Maiden, Helloween and Blind Guardian are still getting it done, while newer groups like Ghost and Keldian are in constant rotation pretty much wherever I go.

Keldian's most recent release "Outbound" was my personal album of the year for 2013...

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
